Transco Rail Services, along with Union Tank Car Company (UTLX) and Procor, delivers full‑service railcar repair and maintenance through a broad North American network of fixed shops and mobile field service teams. Serving freight and tank car fleets across multiple industries, we are committed to safety, compliance, quality, and reliable service.

We’re pleased to share an exciting career opportunity for a dependable Railcar Repair Supervisor. In this role, you’ll report directly to the Site Supervisor in Lanigan and work hands‑on with our customers at their location.

This position is ideal for an experienced professional who’s ready to take the next step in their career within an organization that values growth, development, and long‑term advancement.

Job Summary:

Oversee daily operations and manage railcar technicians.
Knows and understands customer’s workload and priorities and executes the plan.
Provides strong leadership to staff, fostering a positive and respectful work environment.
Achieves facility production goals while managing expenses effectively.
Develops team skills for succession planning to ensure adequate staffing.
Leads by example to create a positive safety culture
Maintains communication with customers to achieve the customer’s goals.
Implements and drives initiatives for operational improvement and growth.
Enforce company and customer safety rules.
Submits required metrics and documentation promptly.
Manages materials and inventory to optimize service and cost management.
Ensure proper staffing levels and supports team development
Performs additional related duties as assigned

Competencies:

Welding experience is a plus.
2-3 years of team leadership and business management experience.
Experience in process management, quality assurance, and rail repair is advantageous.
Demonstrated strong safety record.
Experience working in confined spaces and or at heights is an asset.
Experience with AAR rules and M1002/M1003 standards is beneficial.
Proficient in computer use, especially with Office 365.Strong customer service skills with a focus on planning and execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Capable of performing effectively under pressure.
Strong interpersonal skills and team-building capabilities.
Valid driver’s license required.
Willingness to travel and stay overnight as necessary.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on expanding the customer base and identifying growth opportunities.

Career Path

Successful performance as a Supervisor may lead to advancement into roles such as Site Supervisor, Operations Manager, Area Manager, or Regional Manager within the organization. Continued professional development in leadership, safety management, and CI/LEAN methodologies is strongly encouraged.
