We are currently hiring an experienced Journeyman Boom Truck Operator for a long-term position in Edmonton. This role offers steady work, strong team support, and a focus on safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Plan and perform safe lifts using crane charts, rigging, and load weights
- Operate boom truck and transport loads in compliance with regulations
- Handle load securement, axle weights, and over-dimensional loads
- Complete all required paperwork (BOLs, logs, FLHA’s, inspections, crane logs)
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain equipment cleanliness
- Communicate with dispatch on job progress and changes
- Direct signallers/riggers and ensure safe work practices
- Train and mentor apprentices and new workers
- Follow all site procedures, safety protocols, and fatigue management practices
Requirements
- Journeyman Boom Truck Operator experience
- Valid Class 1 Licence with clean abstract (5 years)
- Strong knowledge of rigging, lifting procedures, and load securement
- Experience with over-dimensional hauling
- Ability to work independently and safely
Work Details
- Long-term employment (steady work)
- On-call rotation required
- Potential overnight runs (sleeper truck)
- Overtime as per Alberta Labour Law (8/44)
