This new role of Senior Mechanic was created to support the continued growth of WeldFit. The position is intended to help strengthen the organization as the company expands its operations, capabilities, and team into Canada.
Senior Mechanic Job Description
Job Summary / Responsibilities
The Mechanic will be responsible for the testing and maintenance of all hot tap and line stop equipment for the Canada branch. This position may require travel for field support and/or mechanical assistance. The Mechanic will ensure that all equipment is checked according to procedure after each job, green tagged, scheduled for planned maintenance, and properly tracked and managed. In addition, this role will serve as a support technician for HTP jobs during times of high demand.
Other Duties / Expectations
Equipment
· Evaluate each job’s needs and ensure that each job is assigned and ready with the proper equipment.
· Lead investigations of equipment-related failures, including root cause analysis, with the goal of eliminating future failures and Equipment NCRs.
· Keep all assets tagged and up to date in the online system.
· Ensure each job has been documented in the online system, detailing which asset number was used on each job.
· Conduct monthly equipment needs assessments and reports for management to support proactive development and asset improvement plans.
· Collaborate with management to develop and contribute ideas and advice for improving equipment management.
Maintenance
· Develop and monitor equipment policies and procedures to govern all planned and unplanned maintenance of HTP equipment.
· Create and perform proactive maintenance programs on HTP equipment to ensure equipment meets HSEQ working practices.
General
· Maintain field-level experience and strong working relationships with technicians.
· Perform any other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience Requirements
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Experience as a mechanic or trade equivalent, such as pipefitter, millwright, or similar role.
· Experience in an industrial manufacturing, distribution, service, hot tap service, or similar environment.
Physical Requirements
· Physical dexterity and the ability to stand for eight hours or more in a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions.
Required Skills
· HTP field experience as a technician.
· Experience with equipment maintenance and mechanics.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Access experience is a plus.
· Ability to be on call 24/7 for emergencies.
· Good judgment and discretion, with prompt and accurate decision-making in complex situations.
Travel Requirements
Travel is expected to be up to 10% to assist technicians in the field as needed
Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
