Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.
The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is seeking motivated undergraduate students to join our team as Student Program Assistants. In this part-time position, you will work collaboratively with CTL staff to support the delivery of signature events such as the Green + Gold Teaching Showcase, provide a meaningful student lens on new initiatives, and engage in outreach activities. This is an ideal opportunity for a student eager to develop professional skills while contributing to a strong educational environment.
Hours of Work: Some hours may be fixed to support scheduled events and programming. Remaining hours will be discussed with the successful candidate, and, where possible, arranged around their course schedule. Additional hours may be available during high-volume periods, such as major events.

The Provost and Vice-President - Academic is the University of Alberta’s chief academic officer and a key leader in advancing the university’s educational mission. As a member of the executive team, the Provost works closely with the President and fellow vice-presidents to ensure all institutional portfolios and priorities are aligned with the university’s vision and strategic goals.
The Provost is responsible for academic resource allocation and provides oversight of the infrastructure, services, and administrative units that support teaching, learning, and research excellence. This includes leadership of the university’s colleges and faculties, as well as several key portfolios: the Office of the Registrar, Vice-Provost (Access, Community + Belonging), Vice-Provost (Indigenous Programming and Research), Vice-Provost (Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies), Vice-Provost (Learning Initiatives), and the Centre for Teaching and Learning. The Provost also works in close partnership with the Deans' Council and supports institutional planning and academic policy development.
Through strategic direction and collaborative engagement, the Provost ensures that the University of Alberta maintains a dynamic, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment, positioning it as a leader in post-secondary education in Canada and globally.
Program and Event Support
Provide operational and creative support for the planning, coordination, and delivery of CTL programming and events.

Assist with event logistics, preparation, and on-site execution.

Contribute to the development and distribution of promotional materials across various communication channels.

Serve as a student ambassador during events, supporting participant engagement and fostering a welcoming environment.

Assist with post-event activities, including feedback collection.
Communications and Engagement
Support outreach and communication initiatives that increase awareness of CTL services, programs, and resources while amplifying the student voice.

Draft content for newsletters, event promotions, and other communication materials.

Assist in the creation and curation of stories, testimonials, and multimedia content for promotional and educational purposes.

Contribute to student engagement initiatives and help gather students' perspectives on teaching and learning.
Collaborative Research and Projects
Contribute to projects that advance CTL priorities and inform teaching and learning initiatives.

Assist with environmental scans, feedback collection, and the organization and synthesis of data.

Provide a student perspective on CTL initiatives and identify potential implications for the student learning experience.

Support ongoing projects through independent and collaborative work aligned with evolving Centre priorities.

Contribute to special projects and emerging initiatives as needed.

A current undergraduate student in their second year of study or later at the University of Alberta. Students from all faculties are welcome to apply.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and instructors.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also completing tasks independently.

Interest in teaching and learning, student engagement, and contributing to an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

A proactive approach to problem-solving and a high level of attention to detail.

Familiarity with, or the ability to quickly learn, institutionally supported technologies and digital tools (e.g., Canvas, Google Suite, Wooclap, etc.).

Experience with graphic design, photography, video creation, or other digital media tools is considered an asset.
