Overview
Airborne Energy Solutions Inc. is accepting applications for the Chief Pilot position for the Fixed Wing Division at Villeneuve Alberta. The chosen candidate will work closely with the current Chief Pilot, to ensure training and knowledge of AES’s operations.
This position will report directly to the Fixed Wing Operations Manager and will oversee all of the day to day management of flight training and operating standards for the company’s single engine cessna operations. The individual will be expected to have participation in all facets of current and future Fixed Wing operations, related policies and procedural development in existing and new Transport Canada regulatory areas such as SMS and Quality Assurance. Strong leadership and excellent communication skills, both verbally and written will be required.
Qualifications (MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING)
The successful candidate shall:
● Canadian Citizen - Be entitled to work and reside in Canada.
● Valid Driver's License
● Valid Airline Transport Pilot Licence for the category of aircraft operated.
● Have at least 500 hours of flight time, of which 250 hours were acquired within the preceding three years on the category of aircraft operated by the air operator.
● BE9L experience and PPC is considered an asset.
● Preferably have Pipeline Surveillance Experience and 1000 hours.
● Be qualified in accordance with the air operators training program to act as pilot-in-command on one of the types operated by the air operator;
● Have demonstrated knowledge to the air operator with respect to the content of the operations manual, provisions of the regulations and standards, and if applicable, the approved check pilot manual and standard operating procedures.
● The Chief Pilot’s personal record in relation to aviation shall not include: (i) any conviction under subsection 7.3(1) of the Aeronautics Act; or (ii) two or more convictions, occurring during separate unrelated events, under the Canadian Aviation Regulations.
Responsibilities
The Chief Pilot will be responsible for upholding the professional and safe operating standards of Airborne’s fixed wing flight crew department and in particular for;
● Developing standard operating procedures.
● In conjunction with the Operations Manager, maintaining appropriate staffing levels through identification and hiring of qualified personnel.
● Developing and implementing all required approved training programs for AES’s fixed wing flight crews.
● Issuing directives and notices to the flight crews as required.
● The actioning and distribution of accident, incident, and other occurrence reports.
● The monitoring and maintenance of flight crew training, licensing and crew records.
● The supervision of flight crews.
● Assuming any duties delegated by the Operations Manager.
