Smith & Co. Law is seeking an experienced Associate Lawyer to join our growing general practice.
This opportunity is best suited to a lawyer who has an established book of business, or who is actively developing one, and is looking for the independence of building their own practice within a flexible hybrid work environment while benefiting from the infrastructure and support of an established law firm.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will independently manage client matters within their areas of experience and interest, from initial consultation through resolution or completion.
The Associate is expected to bring an existing book of business or be actively developing their own client base and referral network.
Firm overflow files and internal referrals may also be available from time to time, providing an additional source of work. However, the position is intended for a lawyer who is prepared to actively build and maintain their own practice.
This is a percentage-based, fee-split arrangement rather than a traditional salaried position. Compensation is based on collected billings and the agreed fee-sharing arrangement.

- Flexible hybrid work environment
- Office space
- Boardroom and reception
- Trust account and retainer administration
