Tidewater has an immediate opening for a Maintenance I&E Lead reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator. This is a full-time, hourly position within the Local 431 Union based in our Brazeau River Complex near Drayton Valley Alberta.
The Maintenance I&E Lead will provide maintenance support services to the operating department by directing and coordinating the activities of tradesmen to plan, schedule, prioritize and coordinate maintenance work relating to rotating equipment and control systems while maintaining an environmentally safe and cost-effective work environment. This role will be a 60/40 split of office and field work. Scheduled work will still be performed in this role.
Coordinate and oversee the activities of Mechanical & E/I trade crew(s) to ensure effective utilization of manpower
Set priorities in conjunction with Operations for planned work on equipment and re-schedule tradesmen’s work schedules as per prevailing priority
Coordinates successful execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activities through effective planning, execution
Leads successful execution of non-routine maintenance and collaborate with the operations management and technicians to plan, manage, and coordinate related preventative maintenance, including repair and overhaul of equipment as necessary
Administration of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo) and coordinating with the operations management and technicians to create, assign, track and close all work orders such as service orders, preventative maintenance work orders and corrective maintenance work orders
Ensures all work is planned and performed in accordance with PNG and external standards, processes and procedures (SPI’s, Integrity Management Plans, EH&S activities, etc.)
Works with operations managers and assist with preparing the scope of work, ensuring service contracts or purchase orders are in place, verify qualifications of contractors, report review and acceptance, and communicate with other departments as appropriate
Assessing and documenting maintenance activities, measurement of maintenance performance indicators, performing failure analysis, performing assessment of availability, reliability, and cost, spare parts and materials, and equipment tracking
Ensures all reports and findings are communicated to Plant Manager and management team
Reviews all work orders for timely completion with adequate documentation
Analyzes, recommends and implements process improvements in areas that are inefficient
Maintains controllable O&M expense metrics to improve budget development and review
Understands operational economics of the operations
Covering the rotating on-call schedule
Providing lead support on projects
Perform both CMs and PMs
Education and Experience:
Engineering technologist or Engineering degree, preferably Mechanical or
Journeyman certificate or relevant technical diploma, or degree
10+ years of production/field experience in a maintenance, operations or EHS role including demonstrated supervisory experience leading a multi-discipline team of trades personnel
Extensive experience administering and managing a CMMS system, ideally Maximo.
Proficiency Asset Management and Maintenance analytic methods for assessing scope and frequency of maintenance activities.
Proficiency in maintenance for piping systems, rotating equipment, system integrity, measurement.
Proficiency in Microsoft office suite of tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Possess excellent technical, administrative, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of facility operations, maintenance, and commercial impacts of maintenance activities
Working knowledge of MS Project
Ability to proactively identify and resolve root causes of mechanical failures
Previously involved with managing, scheduling, and/or communicating shutdown activities efficiently and effectively
Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing to other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business
Demonstrate an intermediate knowledge of general computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), with the ability to learn company specific programs.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Familiarity with and understanding of:
Safety standards and applicable environmental regulations
Rotating equipment and electrical/instrumentation processes
Estimating, budgeting and preparation of AFE’s
SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems
Detection optimization technologies
Microsoft Office programs
