KEPLER CANADA — TECHNICAL SUPPORT MANAGER (HVAC)
Location: Greater Toronto Area, Ontario (Richmond Hill HQ)
Employment: Full-Time
ABOUT KEPLER CANADA
Kepler Canada (operated by Azure Canada Inc.) is an Ontario-based HVAC distributor focused on building long-term partnerships with contractors, dealers, and builders across the province. Our product portfolio centres on heat pumps furnaces and air conditioning, water heaters, and ADP coils — all carrying Energy Star, AHRI, NEEP, and NRCan certifications.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will be the go-to technical authority for our dealer network, contractor partners, and homebuilder customers across three core areas:
1. TROUBLESHOOTING (~35%)
- Diagnose field issues remotely (phone, video) and on-site when needed — heat pump performance, furnace controls, AC start-up, refrigerant charge, indoor air handler integration.
- Triage warranty claims with manufacturers (Midea, Allied Air OEM, Bradford White, ADP) — ensure dealers get fast resolution and Kepler maintains supplier relationships.
- Build a knowledge base of recurring field issues to prevent repeat problems and reduce support load over time.
2. TRAINING (~35%)
- Design and deliver hands-on training for contractor installers on Kepler product lines — heat pump sizing for Ontario climate, controls integration, commissioning best practices.
- Run quarterly Dealer Days at our showroom — bring contractors in for product walkthroughs, certification updates, and shop-floor problem-solving sessions.
- Develop manufacturer-certified training pathways with Midea, Allied Air, Bradford White, and ADP — so Kepler dealers get certified faster than competitors.
- Partner with Georgian College, Humber College, and HRAI on apprenticeship and skills-development initiatives.
3. PRE-SALES TECHNICAL SUPPORT (~30%)
- Support our sales team with technical scoping for homebuilder projects — load calculations, equipment selection, ENERGY STAR / NRCan R600 compliance documentation.
- Engage directly with builder technical teams during quotation stage — be the technical credibility that wins production-home and multi-family builder business.
- Support contractor bid-stage technical review — make sure proposed systems work, comply, and qualify for available rebates (Enbridge Sustain, Greener Homes, utility programs).
- Identify cross-sell technical opportunities — ADP coil + Allied AC matching, Bradford White water heater integration with heat pumps, etc.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
MUST HAVE
- 8+ years of hands-on HVAC industry experience — installer, service technician, manufacturer technical rep, or distributor technical role.
- Deep technical knowledge of residential and light-commercial HVAC systems: heat pumps (cold-climate), gas furnaces, central air conditioning, and indoor air quality components.
- Valid Ontario trade credentials — G2 gas technician minimum; G1, refrigeration trade ticket, or 313D/313A licence strongly preferred.
- Track record troubleshooting equipment from multiple manufacturers — comfort working across brands (not single-brand only).
- Strong communication skills — you can explain a complex problem in plain language to a frustrated contractor and have them feel respected, not lectured.
- Comfortable using digital tools for support (video diagnostics, manufacturer portals, basic CRM).
- Valid Ontario driver's license and ability to travel within the GTA and Southwestern Ontario for occasional site visits and training events.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with heat pump cold-climate applications (NEEP certification familiarity, low-ambient performance).
- Familiarity with Energy Star, AHRI, NRCan R600, EnerGuide certification processes — particularly as they apply to homebuilder qualification.
- Prior training delivery experience — manufacturer tech rep, college instructor, or similar.
- Bilingual (English plus Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, or other community languages common in Ontario HVAC trades).
- Existing relationships with major manufacturer technical teams (Midea, Lennox/Allied Air, Bradford White, etc.).
WHAT WE OFFER
- Comprehensive benefits
- Two weeks vacation, plus statutory holidays
- Direct reporting line to the Director of Technical Services — clear ownership, no committee politics
- First Technical Support Manager at the company — you'll shape the function from day one, not inherit someone else's structure
We review every application personally and aim to respond within five business days. No agencies, please.
