Type of Job: Full-Time Seasonal and/or Summer Student (May to mid-December); potential for winter work.

Wages: Hourly wage to be negotiated based on experience. The production staff are paid on a combination of hourly and piecework bonus system for performance on certain propagation tasks such as potting.
Work Hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Mondays to Fridays, some Saturdays required during the busy season.
Staff can expect to participate in:
- Assisting with potting and production: digging, cutting and dividing plants to prepare them for sale, transplanting seedlings and rooted cuttings, etc
- Field planting cuttings and divisions
- Order picking and tagging customer orders
- Confirming counts of material
- Weeding/field maintenance
- Tree planting/mulching
- Scouting for insects and disease
- Assisting with greenhouse maintenance: covering/uncovering poly, painting, etc
- Perform housekeeping duties around work areas
- Reporting to supervisor where necessary

We do work outdoors in all types of weather conditions, so please be prepared to dress accordingly. Duties above require a significant level of physical conditioning. Other requirements:
- Personal transportation required to and from work; we are not on a public transit route.
- Candidates must provide proof of an up-to-date tetanus shot before commencing work for exposure to field and potting soils.
- Must supply own CSA-approved footwear and suitable clothing for outdoor work (i.e. raincoat).
- Must be a resident of Canada
Assets for Application, but not required:
Previous experience in greenhouse, nursery, landscaping or agricultural settings, familiarity with the operation of small machinery, power tools, and safety procedures. Education in agribusiness, plant biology, horticulture or restoration ecology aids in a greater understanding of the changing market needs.
