York Professional Pet Sitting & Dog Walking has proudly served Newmarket, Aurora, Sharon, and Holland Landing for over 25 years. Our clients trust us to provide dependable, compassionate care for their beloved pets and homes, including dogs, cats, and small animals.
We are currently looking to welcome a few wonderful team members who live in Newmarket, Aurora, Sharon, or Holland Landing, and who share our commitment to reliable, loving care.
Availability We Are Hiring For
We are especially seeking team members who can support our busiest weekday daytime hours:
- Monday to Friday, approximately 10 am to 3 pm
- Mornings 7AM - 9AM are also a busy time
We also welcome applicants who are able to help with occasional weekend coverage, shared fairly as part of a rotating team schedule.
- Weekend coverage runs from Friday evening around 6 pm through to the final bedtime visit on Sunday, which may be as late as around 9 pm
- This does not mean working straight through, but being available to be assigned visits
- Weekend work is not required every weekend, and schedules are planned in advance
Applicants may be available for weekdays, weekends, or a combination of both.
Our Service Hours
We provide pet care 365 days a year, including stat holidays, to ensure our clients always have support when they need it.
- Service hours range from early morning visits starting around 7 am
- Evening and bedtime visits may run as late as approximately 9.30 pm
- Team members may occasionally be scheduled for morning or evening visits, depending on client needs
- Stat holiday coverage is shared across the team, and team members are not expected to work every stat holiday
Schedules are planned in advance whenever possible, and coverage is shared fairly.
What the Role Involves
- Walking dogs in all weather
- Caring for cats and small pets, including rabbits, guinea pigs, and reptiles
- Ensuring pets and clients home feel safe, settled, and well cared for while their people are away
- Following detailed care plans, including feeding and medications when required
- Sending thoughtful visit notes and photos through our scheduling app
- Driving between client homes within our service area
What We’re Looking For
- You live in Newmarket, Aurora, Sharon, or Holland Landing
- You have your own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s licence
- You are dependable, professional, and consistent
- You are comfortable working independently in clients’ homes
- You communicate clearly and work well as part of a team
- You are physically able to handle dogs of all sizes and enjoy being outdoors in all seasons
- You pay close attention to detail and follow instructions carefully
- You are comfortable using a smartphone app for scheduling and visit updates
- You are seeking long term, steady part time work
Experience and Training
- Previous pet care experience is an asset.
- Full training is provided, with ongoing support so you feel confident before heading out on your own
