Canaweld Inc. is a Canadian designer and manufacturer of welding machines, welding equipment and related industrial solutions. We design, manufacture, assemble, test, sell and support welding equipment for industrial and commercial applications.
We are seeking an experienced Business Systems & IT Specialist to manage, integrate and improve the information systems that support our manufacturing, inventory, sales, e-commerce, finance and administrative operations.
This is a hands-on technical position combining information systems analysis, ERP administration, SQL/database work, API and system integration, business process automation, e-commerce integration, IT infrastructure and industrial systems connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, implement, test, maintain and support the company's information systems, IT infrastructure and integrated technology solutions.
- Assess existing IT systems and infrastructure, identify technical issues and recommend improvements to system performance, reliability, security, availability and integration.
- Monitor information systems, identify system failures, security concerns and performance issues, troubleshoot technical problems and implement corrective solutions.
- Administer and support Microsoft 365, cloud services, business applications, network infrastructure and related IT systems.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, security controls, authentication and business-system access requirements.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity, data protection, backup, disaster recovery and business-continuity practices.
- Configure and troubleshoot network connectivity and data communication between computers, servers, cloud services, business systems and network-connected equipment.
- Develop and maintain IT policies, system documentation, operating procedures, technical specifications and internal IT standards.
- Coordinate system implementations, upgrades, testing, migrations, security improvements and ongoing technical improvements.
- Design, implement and maintain system integrations between ERP platforms, databases, e-commerce systems, cloud applications and other internal information systems.
- Develop and maintain REST API, JSON, web-service and system-to-system integrations between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Shopify and other business applications.
- Develop, troubleshoot and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, queries, views, stored procedures and data-integration processes.
- Analyze data structures and implement reporting, data-processing and information-management solutions to support operational and management requirements.
- Administer, configure, maintain and optimize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including its integration with manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, sales and other company systems.
- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot Shopify integrations, including synchronization of product, inventory, order, customer and other business data.
- Work with Shopify APIs and related integration technologies to maintain secure and reliable data exchange between e-commerce and internal information systems.
- Develop, implement and maintain system and workflow automation using Microsoft Power Automate and related Microsoft cloud technologies.
- Configure and troubleshoot connectivity and data exchange between the company's IT infrastructure and industrial equipment, welding equipment and robotic welding systems/controllers.
- Diagnose network, communication and data-integration issues involving industrial devices and business information systems.
- Analyze user and departmental technology requirements and recommend appropriate information-system solutions.
- Review existing systems and technology-supported business processes to identify opportunities for improved system efficiency, automation and integration.
- Provide technical support, system documentation and training to employees using ERP, cloud and other business information systems.
- Work with management and operational departments to plan and implement technology solutions that support the company's manufacturing and business operations.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in information systems, business systems, ERP systems, system integration or a closely related IT role.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL queries, views, stored procedures and database troubleshooting.
- Professional experience administering, implementing or supporting ERP systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or comparable enterprise ERP systems.
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, web services and system-to-system integration.
- Experience integrating business applications, databases and cloud-based platforms.
- Experience with business-process analysis and workflow automation.
- Strong understanding of computer networks, TCP/IP and troubleshooting network-connected systems and devices.
- Ability to analyze technical and business requirements and translate them into reliable information-system solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively in English with management and employees.
Preferred Technical Experience
The following experience is considered an asset:
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central configuration and integration.
- Microsoft Power Automate and Microsoft 365.
- Shopify administration, Shopify APIs and e-commerce/ERP integration.
- Azure SQL Database and Microsoft Azure services.
- ERP integration with manufacturing, inventory and warehouse processes.
- Integration or network connectivity involving industrial equipment, automation systems or robotic controllers.
- Manufacturing-sector IT/business systems experience.
- Business intelligence and reporting solutions.

Work Environment
This position is currently based at Canaweld's facility in Concord (Vaughan), Ontario. Canaweld is relocating its operations to Whitby, Ontario, with the transition expected to be completed by January 1, 2027.
The successful candidate must be able and willing to work at the current Concord location during the transition period and subsequently work at Canaweld's new Whitby location following the relocation.
The position is primarily office-based; however, the facility includes manufacturing and warehouse operations. The employee may occasionally be required to access manufacturing areas to support network-connected equipment, robotic welding systems, industrial devices, and related IT infrastructure
