Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Autobody Repair Technician to join our Simplicity Car Care East York team. In this role, you will perform body, frame, and mechanical repairs to ensure vehicles are restored to manufacturer standards.
This role is ideal for a technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, understands the pace of a collision repair environment, and is comfortable contributing to improved shop throughput, touch time, cycle time, and overall production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs that result in invisible restoration and meet OE specifications
- Maintain a repair vs. replace metric of 70% month-over-month and quarter-over-quarter
- Ensure all broken parts are documented in the initial Repair Plan
- Work with the Repair Planner to disassemble a drivable vehicle within 30 minutes for review
- Act as a coach and role model for apprentices in the shop
- Follow and complete Quality Control documentation accurately
- Inspect Repair Plans for accuracy and completeness
- Pre-fit all parts before final repairs
- Replace all parts listed on the Job Worksheet and repair all panels as required
- Operate tools and equipment safely at all times
- Ensure all vehicles on the frame machine are properly secured for safety and efficiency
- Embrace a “parts off the car” mindset for maximum productivity
- Support shop throughput, quality standards, and profitability goals
- Share knowledge and mentor junior team members
- Complete work in body, frame, mechanical, and electrical repair categories
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards
What You Offer:
- 2+ years of automotive body repair experience
- Red Seal/Journeyperson certification
- At least five years as an “A Tech” level technician
- Five years of frame pull experience
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- High attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Valid Driver’s License
- Commitment to safety and continuous learning

- OEM certification courses and equivalency training
- I-Car training
Compensation:
This position offers a flat-rate compensation structure of $27.00 to $30.00 per flat-rate hour, based on experience, skill level, and overall fit for the role.
At this time, the shop currently expects consistent production opportunities in the range of approximately 50 to 80 flat-rate hours per week, depending on repair volume, workflow, parts availability, and overall shop conditions. This is shared upfront to ensure transparency and to help set clear expectations for candidates looking for a long-term opportunity with the team.
