Property Maintenance & Health & Safety Coordinator

About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on, solutions-focused Property Maintenance & Health & Safety Coordinator to take ownership of the vision, upkeep, and safety of our properties.
This is a unique role that blends big-picture oversight with practical execution — ideal for someone who enjoys planning, problem-solving, and rolling up their sleeves when needed.
You’ll be responsible for multiple properties with a mix of commercial and residential responsibilities ensuring they are well-maintained, safe, and continuously improving. Compliance in all areas of employer, property and industry regulations will be a focus.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Property Maintenance & Vision
- Own the maintenance strategy and planning for all properties
- Build and manage a preventative maintenance program
- Identify property risks, improvement opportunities, and long-term capital needs
- Coordinate and oversee contractors, vendors, and service providers
- Manage maintenance budgets, quotes, and project timelines
- Ensure properties are always clean, functional, professional and safe
Hands-On Maintenance & Problem Solving
- Complete small repairs, fixes, and one-off projects
- Troubleshoot issues and determine the best course of action
- Handle day-to-day operational needs quickly and effectively
Health & Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safe, compliant work environments across all properties
- Maintain and support health & safety programs and documentation
- Identify hazards and proactively address risks
- Support incident prevention and safe work practices while leading the JHSC and managing the relationship with WSIB claims management
- Health & Safety certification is an asset — or a willingness to complete (we’ll support you)
Project & Technical Coordination
- Support small to mid-sized property and operations projects
- Assist an off-site IT/technical team with light on-site support (guided troubleshooting, coordination, physical setup)
- Track and organize tasks, priorities, and follow-ups
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in property maintenance, facilities, or operations
- Strong project coordination, budgetary, negotiation and organizational skills
- Comfortable managing contractors, quotes, pace of work and accountability
- Handyman-level skills and confidence tackling small repairs
- Solid problem-solving mindset — practical, resourceful, and proactive
- Strong technical/computer skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
- Professional and courteous representation of our business and our brands
- Flexible schedule to accommodate security and maintenance issues that may fall outside of regular business hours. *Huronia Security Calls*
- Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle (mileage re-imbursed)
Nice to have:
- Health & Safety certification (must have willingness to complete)
- Experience in multi-site property management
- Basic understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, etc.)
- Intermediate technical skills with some curiosity to learn
- Experience managing the relationship with WSIB for occasional claims submissions

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
