Position Overview
Prism Industrial Services is currently seeking an experienced Journeyperson Pipefitter or Plumber with industrial construction and maintenance experience to join our team in Calgary.
The successful candidate will work on a variety of industrial piping projects including process piping, steam systems, compressed air systems, utility piping, equipment installations, and facility upgrades. This position offers the opportunity to work both in the field and within our fabrication shop, supporting projects throughout Alberta and Western Canada.
Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, modify, and maintain industrial piping systems in accordance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, spool drawings, fabrication drawings, and project specifications.
- Measure, cut, fit, thread, groove, and prepare piping components for installation.
- Perform equipment installations, tie-ins, system modifications, and plant maintenance activities.
- Assist with pressure testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup activities.
- Work closely with welders, millwrights, supervisors, and project managers to safely execute project scopes.
- Ensure work is completed to Prism quality standards and client requirements.
- Participate in hazard assessments, toolbox meetings, inspections, and safety programs.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and professional manner.
- Travel to client sites throughout Alberta and Western Canada as required.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Pipefitter/Steamfitter or Journeyperson Plumber certification (Red Seal considered an asset).
- Minimum 3 years of industrial construction, maintenance, or fabrication experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of industrial piping systems, valves, supports, and equipment installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, isometrics, and fabrication drawings.
- Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, threaded, grooved, welded, and sanitary piping systems.
- Knowledge of steam, condensate, compressed air, water, and process piping systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced industrial environments.
- Physically capable of lifting, climbing, working at heights, and performing trade-related duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience in food processing, manufacturing, utilities, or heavy industrial facilities.
- Forklift, Zoom Boom, AWP, Fall Protection, and Confined Space certifications.
- CSTS 2020, WHMIS, First Aid, and H2S Alive.
- Pressure piping fabrication or shutdown experience.
- Welding experience or CWB qualifications are considered an asset.

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
