Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our team. This is a senior-level position for an experienced estimator who can independently manage the estimating process from bid invitation through tender submission. You will lead the estimation process for diverse construction projects, ensuring accurate pricing, thorough project analysis, and competitive bids while identifying project risks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
· Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and tender documents to determine project scope and identify discrepancies or risks.
· Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project costs.
· Complete detailed quantity take-offs, including framing, drywall, painting, and various finish scopes.
· Solicit, review, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
· Prepare bid proposals, cost breakdowns, assumptions, and exclusions for tender submissions.
· Monitor bid invitations and maintain an accurate and up-to-date bid list.
· Review IFT/IFC changes, RFIs, site instructions, and change orders and prepare accurate pricing.
· Maintain current labor rates, material pricing, subcontractor costs, and estimating databases.
· Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
· Provide estimating and cost support to the project and field teams, including material quantities and ordering information.
· Review project costs against estimates and assist with forecasting and cost-control measures.
· Identify value-engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
· Lead and mentor junior positions.
· Maintain a database.
Requirements
· 5 years minimum in construction estimating, preferably in steel stud, drywall, and paint.
· Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project costs.
· Proficiency with estimating and take-off software.
· Strong ability to read and analyze drawings, specifications, and complex project documents.
· Excellent negotiation skills with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
· Solid understanding of construction processes, project management, and cost control.
· Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
· Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines from bid invitation through tender submission.
