About the Role:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Community Operations Manager oversees Front Desk, Assisted Living, and Courtesy Driver operations, ensuring exceptional service, regulatory compliance, and efficient day-to-day operations. As a member of the Management Team, this role provides administrative and operational leadership, supports departmental success, participates in the Manager-on-Call rotation, and acts on behalf of the General Manager as required.
- Full-time, Sunday – Thursday, 8:30am – 4:30pm.
- Must be flexible in hours of work to meet operational requirements.

The Community Operations Manager is responsible for the leadership and day-to-day operations of the Front Desk, Assisted Living, and Courtesy Driver teams. Key responsibilities include staff scheduling, recruitment, training, performance management, resident and employee records administration, payroll oversight, and ensuring compliance with company policies, Assisted Living regulations, and reporting requirements. This role coordinates resident services and transitions, supports medication management and resident wellness in partnership with clinical staff, responds to resident and employee concerns, oversees emergency preparedness and response, and contributes to a positive, safe, and collaborative community environment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Minimum of three years Office Administration and experience in management or supervisory capacity
- Knowledge in the field of geriatrics and resident care
- Excellent word processing, database and spreadsheet applications
- Strong data entry and reconciliation skills, strong multitasking and communication skills
- Self-motivated team player with excellent judgment and interpersonal skills with co-workers, seniors, and the general public
- WHMIS and Standard First Aid Certificate.
- Emergency response training in the handling of emergency situations such as power outages, fire, earthquake and medical emergencies
- In depth knowledge of the Assisted Living guidelines and regulations
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understands verbal and written instructions
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with the various individuals involved in providing holistic care in a flexible resident focused environment
Note: At Berwick we understand the importance of immunization to protect our residents, team members and visitors from COVID-19. As such, a prerequisite of employment is that all new hires are vaccinated as approved by Health Canada. A current TB test and criminal record check are also required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults.
