Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Commercial Plumbing Field Supervisor to join our team. This role involves leading a crew while installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and leadership ability, be capable of reading blueprints and schematics, and have experience with various tools and construction techniques. This person will also need to be an excellent teacher — someone who genuinely enjoys developing apprentices and helping them grow into skilled tradespeople. Duties
- Supervise and direct a crew of journeyman plumbers, apprentices, and helpers on commercial job sites
- Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work meets project schedules and deadlines
- Actively teach and mentor apprentices and less experienced team members, ensuring proper skill development and code knowledge
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with safety standards and building codes
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and repairs
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques to complete tasks efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent future issues
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving carpentry, boiler, and HVAC components
- Troubleshoot plumbing issues using basic math skills and technical schematics to identify root causes
- Ensure all work complies with local regulations and safety protocols
Skills
