About Us
H2 is a proudly Western Canadian agency with offices in Victoria and Calgary. We’re also part of The Canadian Agency Network (tCAN), connecting us with agencies and expertise across the country.
We’re collaborative and flexible, with creative, media and strategy working closely together from the start. That mix of perspectives makes the work better and keeps us focused on what actually matters. We care about results, not just KPIs. Metrics help tell us what’s happening, but the real measure is whether the work changed behaviour, shifted perception, grew the business or solved the problem.
We take the work seriously, but not ourselves. We value curiosity, accountability, different points of view and people who are comfortable challenging each other. Good ideas can come from anywhere, and when they do, we get behind them together.
About the Role
The Executive Creative Director leads H2’s creative vision, talent, and output. This role is responsible for elevating the agency’s creative product, driving design innovation, developing creative talent, and ensuring work is strategically sharp, beautifully executed, and effective for clients.
Developing the talent of our creative team is your number one job. We believe creative people deserve clear, intentional growth. Whether that means stepping into team management or thriving as a high-impact individual, we actively build pathways for both tracks to elevate and grow.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team, pushing them to build multi-channel versatility. You are an expert in integrated campaign cohesion and know how to make a single big idea feel seamless across traditional media, digital platforms, and emerging spaces.
What You’ll Do
- Leadership & Talent: Guide, mentor, and develop team members. Expand their channel versatility so they can conceptualize fluidly across any format.
- Team & Budget Management: Lead a core team of full-time creatives and direct the creative department budget to recruit, scale, and resource the team as our client portfolio expands.
- Lead Integrated Campaigns: Set and uphold the bar for multi-channel campaign cohesion. Ensure that creative platforms translate seamlessly from high-level brand strategy to tactical digital execution.
- End-to-End Production Leadership: Oversee traditional and digital production workflows. Bring hands-on experience on set, deep technical knowledge of social platform spec sheets, and a sharp eye for execution quality.
- Fluid Ecosystem Collaboration: Work fluidly across complex partner matrices including internal account/strategy teams, external agency partners, client marketing teams, and client contractors
- Asynchronous & Efficient Leadership: Lead a hybrid/remote team with operational clarity. Use chat, documentation, and async workflows smartly to keep the team focused, productive, and out of "meeting hell."
Skills & Experience You Bring
- Integrated Campaign Mastery (Absolute Must): Demonstrated portfolio showcasing full-scale integrated campaigns where big ideas maintain absolute cohesion across diverse channels.
- 8+ Years of Agency Creative Experience: Proven track record of senior creative leadership, team building, and managing creative operations within an agency setting.
- Exceptional Presentation & Persuasion Skills: Outstanding verbal presentation skills with the charisma and strategic clarity to pitch, defend, and refine work with C-suite stakeholders and tough client audiences.
- Production Expertise: Deep experience with production processes, including time on set, director oversight, post-production, and exact technical specifications across modern social and digital ecosystems.
- Experience in Frontier Channels: Understanding of community platforms, user-generated attention spaces, and emerging cultural frontiers where brand presence must feel earned, authentic, and native.
- People & Budget Management: Experience managing staff along with departmental/project budgets. Proven ability to build, retain, and scale a creative team.
