TDL is currently seeking to fulfill a full-time, permanent Senior Bookkeeper position to support our Finance team with the daily transactional accounting and financial reporting responsibilities of our growing wholesale distribution business in Western Canada.
General Accounting Duties (85%)
- Manage accounts payable, inventory related transactions and resolve related issues
- Assist with Accounts Receivable
- Post journal entries and maintain general ledgers
- Perform reconciliation of accounts and bank deposits
- Manual invoices for the 3PL component of our business
- Vendor management, credit follow up and collections.
- Ensure insurance invoices are accurate, paid and recorded appropriately, and issues are resolved with insurance providers
- Vendor account management and credit/debit memo accountability
Prepare statistical, financial, supporting schedules and reports to help strategize the management and growth of TDL (10%)
- Prepare month end and yearend sales, bank reports for our bank and the company’s Chartered Accountant
- Support the budget activities of the management team
- Provide input into goal setting process for the department
Support Human Resources Function (5%)
- Support the Office Manager with the administration of programs such as team building, employee orientation, employee recognition, performance management, and charitable drives
Education and Experience
Completion of post-secondary accounting technical training; accounting designation not required, equivalent combination of education and experience is more preferred
· Minimum 5 to 7 years’ experience in a wholesale distribution business setting, including work with a large inventory
· Demonstrated success in an bookkeeping /accounting role
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills and Attitudes
o Strong problem-solving skills
o High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
o Strong knowledge of computers, especially MS Office Outlook, Word and advanced Excel; skills with pivot tables.
o Experience with Sage 300 an asset.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
