About the Role:
The Clinical Manager, Registered Nurse (CM-RN) is a blended leadership and clinical role that combines frontline team leadership with direct, hands-on registered nursing care. Present, accessible, and people-first, the CM-RN provides day-to-day operational and clinical support that keeps the nursing team performing at its best while remaining an active clinical practitioner who delivers exceptional, personalized care to clients.

Reporting to: Senior Director, Clinical Operations (SDCO). Works in close collaboration with the National Clinical Practice Lead (CPL) to support mentorship, clinical guidance, quality improvement initiatives, and the implementation of national clinical standards and best practices at the local level.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Team Development
- Develop People Care Plans for each direct report, setting clear goals, providing regular coaching, and identifying growth opportunities
- Conduct ongoing performance check-ins, addressing concerns promptly and constructively; escalate to the SDCO where needed
- Manage time off requests and ensure the team is adequately always resourced
- Lead local team meetings, ensuring the team is informed, aligned, and heard
- Participate in candidate screening and interviews, assessing clinical skill, scope of practice, and cultural alignment
- Coordinate onboarding for new hires in partnership with the CPL, ensuring training and credentials are completed to standard and new hires are welcomed into a culture that reflects Harrison's values from day one
- Utilize and promote technology to enhance care coordination, client education, clinical quality, and operational efficiency while supporting the adoption of innovative, evidence-based nursing practices.
Program Delivery & Training
- Accountable for the consistent delivery of defined care standards across all programs and services
- Monitor and ensure adherence to clinical SOPs and protocols, proactively identifying gaps and driving resolution with clear recommendations
- Lead the implementation, execution, and ongoing optimization of clinical programs at Harrison, in alignment with CPL direction and in collaboration with the Senior Director, Programs & Services (SDPS) and SDCO
- Own onboarding and ongoing training execution, ensuring team competency and consistency in collaboration with the CPL
- Championing a culture of innovation and continuous learning, actively identifying and advancing improvements that enhance care delivery and team experience
Clinical Operations – Nursing
- Manage the day-to-day clinical operations of the nursing team, including scheduling and ensuring appropriate staffing coverage.
- Oversee same-day and urgent clinical requests, ensuring appropriate triage, prioritization, and timely follow-up by the nursing team.
- Communicate scheduling changes proactively and escalate significant staffing gaps, operational risks, or client care concerns to the SDCO.
- Ensure the nursing team adheres to regulatory requirements, Harrison Healthcare policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and discipline-specific training and practice standards.
- Report clinical incidents, safety concerns, and compliance matters promptly to the SDCO, supporting appropriate follow-up and continuous improvement.
- Monitor nursing team capacity, productivity, and key performance indicators (KPIs) using EMR reporting tools, providing insights and recommendations to the SDCO to support operational planning and continuous improvement.
Clinical Nursing Responsibilities:
In addition to leadership duties, the CM-RN maintains an active clinical caseload, delivering direct nursing care in the following areas:
- Client Care & Advocacy: Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure all client care needs are met. Build trust and empower clients with empathetic, personalized support
- Chronic Disease Management: Manage chronic disease tracking and treatment. Coordinate client care and follow-up with physicians, including initiating and adjusting medications, and engaging clients with other team members to optimize health and manage chronic illness
- Case Management: Post-surgical follow-ups, post-hospitalization follow-up, and ongoing support for clients with more complex health concerns
- Clinical Nursing Duties: Perform general nursing duties including well baby checks, immunizations, injections, allergy desensitization therapy, procedures, wound care, travel medicine, and procedural physician assistance
- Physician Support: Assist physicians with various procedures such as biopsies and IUD insertions
- Care Planning: Develop individualized care plans while understanding each client's health plan and work proactively alongside clinical colleagues to support and guide the client towards successful outcomes. Provide recommendations for specific care tracks
- Client Education & Onboarding: Educate clients on healthcare needs, treatment options, and self-care techniques. Document medical histories and lifestyle profiles for new clients and educate them on available services. Triage client needs as they arise
- Documentation & Records: Document client medical histories, care plans, and treatment outcomes to maintain accurate, comprehensive records
- Protocols & Quality: Create and implement protocols as necessary (i.e. health & safety guidelines, emergency management). Ensure precision and quality in assessments, interventions, and treatment. Commitment to continuous learning and excellence in clinical care
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Take a multidisciplinary approach to comprehensive client care, working with Registered Dietitians, Exercise Physiologists, Mental Health Care Navigators, Genetic Counsellors, the Medical Laboratory Team, and more to optimize wellness
- Technology & Innovation: Utilize technology to enhance care coordination and client education. Stay at the forefront of evidence-based nursing practices
Experience you Bring & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (BScN or BN) from a recognized nursing program
- Active practicing registration in good standing with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- 5+ years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting
- Demonstrated experience in a clinical leadership or supervisory role
- People-first leader with the ability to build trust, foster connection, and bring out the best in a team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage scheduling, competing priorities, and urgent situations effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - approachable, clear, and solutions-focused
- Strong commitment to providing patient-centered, compassionate care
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint; comfortable with AI tools and pursuing additional training as needed
