Most job postings are written to fill a seat. This one is written to find a salesperson who has been quietly outperforming a capped commission plan and is tired of it.
We are the Westlund Group of Companies, a Langley-based family of businesses spanning aviation (Sky Helicopters), telecommunications (Apex Wireless), wellness (Fluid Spa & Salon), product innovation (Vinyl Labs), and digital marketing (Agency Media), among others. We do not theorize about business. We make payroll, ride out slow seasons, and live and die by real revenue. That operator mindset runs through everything we do, including how we sell.
This role lives inside Agency Media, our marketing and media arm. We help businesses across construction, real estate, tourism, hospitality, higher education, and B2B services actually grow, not just “get some marketing done.” Our entry point is AVA, our AI marketing assistant (starts at $399/month, no contract), which opens the door to websites, video, paid ads, and full managed services as clients see results.
Who We Are Looking For
Someone who is genuinely motivated by variable income. If a predictable paycheck is what gets you out of bed, this is not your role and that is okay. We pay a solid base, then we get out of your way and let commission do the rest. The people who win here are the ones who look at an uncapped plan and see opportunity, not anxiety.
You should be equally comfortable on a cold call, in a discovery meeting, and standing in a room full of strangers at an industry mixer. We want someone who embeds in the places our buyers already gather: construction associations, real estate boards, tourism councils, chambers of commerce, and BNI-style referral groups. Not lurking in the back, actually known by name.
What The Role Looks Like
You will work three sources of opportunity, and you need to be good at all three:
- Warm leads. We hand you real, interested prospects to convert. These are yours to close.
- Cold accounts. Our CRM is full of businesses we have identified but not yet activated. You will work them systematically with our proven multi-touch follow-up system.
- Net-new prospecting. You will build your own pipeline through outreach and, critically, through showing up in the industry communities where your buyers spend their time.
From there: run discovery conversations that uncover what is actually broken in a prospect’s marketing, present AVA or a Website plus AVA package as the foundation, secure the account, and then grow it over time into video, ads, SEO, and managed services as their needs evolve. You own the relationship from first hello to long-term client.

What You Bring
- Real sales experience. We are less interested in a specific number of years than in evidence that you can find prospects, build trust, and close. If you have carried a quota and hit it, we want to talk.
- A background that touches sales, marketing, or both. You do not need to be a marketing expert, but you need to be able to speak a business owner’s language about growth.
- Comfort with high-activity outreach and booking your own meetings.
- The confidence to walk into an association event or a cold boardroom and own it.
- Self-motivation that does not need a manager standing over you.
- Valid Class 5 license and a reliable vehicle.
- Fluent English. An understanding of AI and digital marketing is a strong asset.
