Ok... so this is actually a post for a Mining Sales position, but hear us out….
We’re looking for someone who knows heavy industry and mining from the technical side of it. Maybe you’re a Mechanical Engineer, Mining Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Process Engineer, or you’ve spent enough years around mine sites and heavy industrial equipment that you understand how equipment, systems, and operations work.
You know what downtime means. You know the difference between treating symptoms and solving the root cause of a problem. You are resourceful, technically curious, and know how to learn and find the answers you need. You can walk into a maintenance shop, engineering meeting, or operations discussion and understand the technical language being spoken.
Now you might be ready to use that experience differently. We want you to utilize your strengths by leaning into your technical knowledge and problem-solving ability but apply them in a different way. Instead of always being the person analyzing, designing, or troubleshooting the solution, you start being the person who uncovers the problem, develops the solution with the customer, and builds the relationship around it. That’s the opportunity we are offering.
Here’s our criteria:
- An engineering or strong technical background with experience in mining or heavy industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand industrial equipment, processes, and systems.
- Comfortable walking onto a mine site and talking with maintenance, reliability, engineering, operations, and procurement.
- Personable and outgoing, with a natural ability to build trusting relationships.
- Curious enough to ask good questions, dig into technical problems, and listen before recommending a solution.
- Able to translate technical problems into practical solutions that make sense operationally and commercially.
- Self-directed and willing to get out into the territory and develop business.
- Organized, dependable, and able to follow opportunities through.
- Interested in investing in yourself to develop a new technical career path in sales.
Sales experience is an asset, but it is not a prerequisite. We want to develop the right person. What’s harder for us to teach is the technical credibility that comes from having worked around industrial equipment and understanding the realities of a mine site.
What will you be doing?
This is a hands-on account management and business development role. You’ll spend a significant amount of your time in the field, working directly with mining customers throughout the territory. You’ll grow existing relationships and develop new ones with maintenance, operations, and procurement teams.
A big part of your job is uncovering opportunities. What isn't working? Where are they losing time? What is creating headaches for maintenance? Is there a better way for them to manage and handle their fuel and lubrication on site?
Then you work with the Innoflo team to figure out whether we can help.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable listening first and looking out for the customer, not the stereotypical "sell at all costs" salesperson. If the customer doesn't need something, don't sell it to them. Applying our expert insights for what our customers need – that’s the Innoflo way.
Role & Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mine-site maintenance, reliability, operations, and procurement teams.
- Grow existing mining accounts while actively developing new mine-site business throughout the territory.
- Conduct regular customer and site visits to understand equipment, maintenance challenges, and operational needs.
- Identify opportunities involving fuel management, lubrication systems, pumps, storage, dispensing, DEF, and other industrial fluid-management applications.
- Work with Innoflo's technical and engineering teams to develop solutions for more complex customer requirements.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and become a savvy HubSpot CRM user.
- Follow up on proposals, customer requirements, and open opportunities.
- Keep us informed about what you're seeing in the market, including customer needs, competitive activity, product gaps, and new opportunities.
- Attend relevant mining industry events and trade shows.
Qualifications & Candidate Profile
A background in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Process Engineering, or another engineering discipline relevant to mining and heavy industrial operations would get our attention.
We're also interested in someone who brings:
- Experience working in mining, heavy industry, oil and gas, or a similar industrial environment.
- Familiarity with mine-site maintenance and equipment reliability.
- Exposure to fuel management, lubrication systems, pumps, storage equipment, DEF, or industrial fluid handling is an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- The ability to communicate comfortably with both tradespeople and management.
- Good organization and follow-through.
- Comfort working independently and managing a territory.
- A willingness to travel regularly to mine sites.
- Sales experience is an asset, but again, not required for the right technical person.
One last thing.
This is a critical position for Innoflo. We aren't looking to fill a seat.
We're looking for someone we can develop who wants to build a career in sales.
You've already spent years building technical knowledge.
We're interested in what you could do with it next.
This isn’t a job - it’s a career. Come and build yours with us.
