We are seeking a detail-oriented Designer/ Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with strong MicroStation experience to support the design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects. You will prepare design and record drawings for watermains, sanitary and storm sewers, pumping stations, and roads, and contribute to contract specifications, cost estimates, and construction support. This role offers the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a design team on diverse municipal projects across Ontario.
Duties

Prepare design and record drawings for municipal infrastructure projects, including watermains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, pumping stations, and roads.

Assist with the preparation of contract specifications and tender documents.

Produce detailed AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D design drawings, including plan/profile sheets for transportation and linear infrastructure.

Review engineering drawings and municipal standards to ensure compliance with design criteria and record-keeping requirements.

Conduct as-constructed surveys and review survey data using data collectors and portable GIS equipment.

Prepare as-constructed drawings from field survey data and contractor submissions.

Work both independently and within a design team to prepare complete design packages for municipal infrastructure projects, including water distribution, sanitary and storm sewers, stormwater management, road design, and utility coordination.

Prepare engineering design calculations, technical reports, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates.

Attend client and project meetings; prepare meeting minutes, agendas, and follow-up documentation as required.

Provide construction-phase support, including submittal coordination, site review, payment certificates, and meeting notes.

Perform other duties as assigned and appropriate for this position.
Qualifications

Graduate of a 3-year college-level Civil Engineering Technologist program or a 2-year Civil Engineering Technician program.

Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or Technician designation with OACETT is preferred.

0-7 years of relevant experience, preferably with an engineering firm.

Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D for municipal design and drafting.

Experience with sewer, watermain, and road reconstruction/renewal projects is preferred.

Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and municipal standards.

Experience conducting or supporting as-constructed surveys and using data collectors/GIS equipment in the field is an asset.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Superior English communication skills, both oral and written, for reports, specifications, and client correspondence.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, clients, and contractors.
Compensation Range
The salary range for this position is: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00
Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
