The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is seeking a creative, innovative, and passionate Visual Content Creator to join our Corporate Communications team. In this exciting role, you will help shape and elevate the Service’s visual storytelling, creating compelling content that informs, engages, and connects with our community and members.

About the Role – How you will Contribute to the Service:
Are you ready to make an impact in an innovative and dynamic environment? We are seeking a talented and creative Visual Content Creator to join our growing Corporate Communications team. In this role, you will be responsible for capturing, editing, and producing a wide range of high-quality video, video and graphic assets that support organizational campaigns, initiatives, projects, and strategic priorities. You will create compelling visual content that informs, engages, and connects with both internal and external audiences while supporting the Service’s commitment to community engagement and public trust.
You will also be responsible for designing impactful visual communications materials, including infographics, brochures, posters, presentations, and social media graphics that effectively communicate key messages and enhance the HRPS brand. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization, you will transform ideas and information into engaging visual stories that support the Service’s business goals and strengthen connections with the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
The Visual Content Creator will work closely with members of the Corporate Communications Unit and stakeholders across the Halton Regional Police Service to develop innovative content and creative solutions that support a variety of internal and external campaigns, initiatives, and projects. This role is responsible for creating compelling, engaging, and impactful video, photography, and graphic content for digital, web, and social media platforms that effectively connect with diverse audiences.
The role involves developing, planning and publishing engaging content across channels and for various audiences. We are looking for someone who is highly creative and strategic, with a strong understanding of branding guidelines and visual identity. The Visual Content Creator will plan and direct photo and video shoots, including the positioning of subjects, scene composition, and the effective setup of lighting and audio equipment. In addition, the successful candidate will perform post-production activities, including reviewing footage, creating rough cuts, audio editing, colour correction, motion graphics, and final video production using industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality content is essential.
What you’ll Bring to the Role:
Education, Certifications and Qualifications: College diploma in Digital Content Creation, Communications, Media, Advertising, Marketing, Multimedia Design and Development, or a related field.
Previous Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum of two years of experience creating content across a variety of mediums, including digital, web, social media, video, photography, and marketing communications.
- Demonstrated expertise using major social media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram (including Instagram Stories), Facebook, and LinkedIn, with a strong understanding of platform-specific content strategies and audience engagement.
- Passion for graphic design, brand development, and visual storytelling, with a commitment to producing innovative and high-quality content.
- Extensive experience in producing and editing videos, focused story-telling, and writing to visuals under tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of what drives successful content in today’s digital landscape, with the ability to create engaging, impactful, and audience-focused content across multiple channels and platforms.
- Video producing, audio/visual and editing skills are essential. Excellent knowledge of Adobe Suite, with emphasis on Adobe Premiere, In Design, Illustrator and Photoshop is required. Familiarity with web publishing tools, as well as knowledge of HTML principles.
- Demonstrated experience with filming, lighting and sound equipment. Advanced understanding of and/or proficiency in live-streaming, and a diverse range of video and image processing software, plug-ins, techniques and approaches.

Salary Range: $82,147 to $91,255 per annum
