ABOUT US

Oceans Fresh Food Market is a supermarket ideally positioned as Canada’s multi-ethnic fresh food shopping experience. We have been in business since 2007 and provide a high level of quality with regards to fresh produce, fresh meat, fresh seafood & fresh food.

We are currently looking for a full-time Store Clerk for our Grocery, Produce, Frozen & Dairy Department. The Store Clerk is responsible for providing prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service to our customers. As well as receiving, stocking, and facing products, and maintaining general cleanliness throughout the store and in the department. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers, and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed consistently.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Stock shelves and display areas

· Price items using the stamp or stickers according to the price list

· Keep stock clean and in order

· Ensure the proper stock rotation of all assigned items in the department and ensure excellent quality and value of all merchandise

· Ensure all operating standards, including food safety and quality are adhered.

· Provide a high level of guest satisfaction and maintain positive relationships with customers.

· Direct customers to the location of articles sought

· Unpack products received by the store and count, weigh, or sort items

· Perform general cleaning duties (i.e. , sweeping/mopping/wiping/vacuuming floors or shelves)

· Keep the work and storage areas clean, organized, and safe at all times, and keep equipment immaculate and in safe working order

· Carry customers' purchases to the parking lot and pack orders in customers' vehicles

· Assist in the performance of inventory-taking and recommend the ordering of merchandise and supplies to the Store Manager and Department Manager or designate

· Accept responsibility for designated department opening and closing procedures as may be directed by the Store Manager and Department Manager or designate

· Assist and relieve other members of the store clerk or service team as may be requested by the Store Manager and Department Manager or designate

· Performs other tasks as required by the Store Manager and Department Manager or designee to meet business needs.

· Work as a team member, lending support and assistance to fellow employees

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Strong customer service skills and passion for serving people

· Superior standards of cleanliness and quality

· Ability to work in a team

· Ability to work from directives with little supervision

· Ability to understand, follow instructions, and solve problems

· Ability to multitask and work in a high paced environment

· Effective English communication skills

· Experience is not necessary as training is provided

*** Physical Demands – Repetitive action combination of standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, ability to carry/lift 50 lbs ***

*** Working Condition – Indoor, Dry, Room Temperature (mostly), and Cold temperature (sometimes)***

*** On-site Parking and Discounted Food (Selected Items) for Employee ***

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $17.60 per hour
