Build supportive, respectful relationships with participants to encourage engagement and reduce isolation
Learn and apply program approaches that promote functional abilities, including adapting strategies for individuals with dementia and those with mental health challenges
Assist with therapeutic gardening activities, including planting vegetables and flowers in greenhouse and outdoor garden spaces
Support participants in harvesting produce, preparing it for use, and participating in produce and plant sales
Assist with creative expression activities, using art to support self-reflection, communication, and emotional well-being
Support the delivery of psycho-social education sessions focused on anxiety, depression, and grief
Observe and report changes in participant well-being, behavior, or safety concerns to program staff
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful program environment
Follow all privacy, confidentiality, and organizational policies
Grade 11 or higher
Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act(1). , and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
