IntelliStaff Medical is recruiting experienced Canadian Cath Lab Registered Nurses for full-time, direct-hire positions with U.S. hospital employers.
These opportunities are ideal for Canadian RNs who have completed the NCLEX-RN, possess at least one year of recent Cath Lab experience, and are prepared to relocate to the United States.
Successful candidates may work in cardiac catheterization laboratories, interventional cardiology departments, electrophysiology labs, or cardiac recovery units, depending on their experience and the hospital’s requirements.
Responsibilities vary by employer but may include:
Preparing patients for diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
Assisting with cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, stent placement, and other cardiovascular procedures
Monitoring patients before, during, and after procedures
Administering medications and conscious sedation within the RN’s authorized scope of practice
Recognizing and responding to cardiac emergencies
Operating and monitoring specialized Cath Lab equipment
Maintaining sterile technique and following infection-prevention protocols
Documenting assessments, medications, procedures, and patient outcomes
Educating patients and families about procedures and recovery
Collaborating with cardiologists, technologists, anaesthesia teams, and other clinical professionals
Participating in an on-call rotation when required by the hospital
Applicants must have:
Canadian citizenship; Canadian permanent residents are not eligible for TN status unless they obtain Canadian citizenship
An active Canadian RN registration in good standing
Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN
Eligibility to obtain a nursing licence in the applicable U.S. state
At least one year of recent hospital-based Cath Lab RN experience
Current Basic Life Support certification
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification
Strong English communication and clinical documentation skills
Willingness and ability to relocate to the United States
Ability to satisfy the hospital’s background screening, health, vaccination, and employment requirements
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred and may be required by certain hospital employers.
VisaScreen Certificate or Visa4Nurses Certificate completed or in progress
Two or more years of recent Cath Lab experience
Experience with interventional cardiology procedures
Electrophysiology Lab experience
Cardiac recovery or pre-operative and post-operative experience
Critical care, ICU, CVICU, or CCU experience
Experience administering moderate or conscious sedation
Previous on-call Cath Lab experience
Specialty cardiac nursing certification
U.S. hospital employers offer compensation ranging from approximately $32 to $75 USD per hour, depending on the position, location, schedule, specialty experience, and employer.
This is equivalent to approximately $44 to $104 CAD per hour based on the exchange rate available when this posting was prepared. Canadian-dollar estimates are provided for comparison only and will fluctuate with currency exchange rates. Employees are paid in U.S. dollars.
