Blossom Group provides a home for adults with complex special needs, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to manage the day-to-day operations of our therapeutic live-in programs. This individual will provide effective leadership, mentorship and skill development to work with direct care staff to support adults through a range of cognitive, social and emotional issues, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, developmental disabilities and coexisting mental health and behavioural issues. Description of Core Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Program Manager will be responsible for program planning, effective coordination of services, and interagency and community development
- Ensure the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and objectives of the agency are communicated and evident in all supports provided by the program
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the homes, to ensure sufficient staff coverage, to maximize and operational effectiveness, and to ensure the execution of organizational policies and procedures
- Ensure services and supports and their Plan of Care/Individual Support Plan, are respectful of their dignity and rights and well being
- Create individual, client-centred programs that are developmentally focused, relationship (family) based, trauma informed. Considerate of cultural, gender and religious preferences and beliefs
- Mentor, hire, schedule, train and supervise Assistant Manager, Recreation Manager, Floor Supervisor, Direct Care staff , Maintenance, and Administration staff. In addition to supporting and supervising staff at our other locations
- Provide leadership as part of a clinical team and provides a safe and therapeutic milieu which individuals goals are actualized
- Promote excellent communication and team building processes
- Ensure our programs adheres to all legislative, ministry and quality assurance standards and documents as per Ministry Requirements
- Provide staff training in training courses such as crisis intervention techniques, Safe Management and CARE program, Floor Supervisor training, etc. subject to certification in these areas
- Meet and communicate regularly with the VP Quality Systems and Operations and other managers as required
- Actively participate as a member of the leadership team
- Share the responsibility of workplace health and safety and the prevention of workplace hazards
- Perform on-call duty and delegates as required; is available for the purpose of consultation and response in the event of an emergency
- Identify and evaluate financial needs for input into budgets; monitors, tracks and reconciles program expenditures to ensure effective use of all resources and fiscal accountability
- Complete necessary documentation in accordance with our policies and procedures, and other legislative requirements
- Implement Behaviour Support Plans and Crisis Interventions Plans that may include physical containment of clients when there is risk of imminent danger-training will be provided
- Maintain confidentiality at all times

Qualifications and Requirements
- University degree in a related field (Master’s degree preferred), or Community College Diploma in a related field in commensurate with experience.
- Minimum of 3 years related experience in a supervisory/management capacity working with people with special needs.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, Quality Assurance Measures, Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, Health and Safety Act, employee/labour relations practices and legislation.
- Demonstrated facilitation and advocacy skills, crisis management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 specifically Word and Excel.
- Driver’s License- level G and a reliable vehicle.
- First Aid Level C.
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Police Check and MTO Driver’s Abstract.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and effective oral-written communication skills.
- Must be able to work shifts, including day, overnights (for training), afternoon, evening and weekend shifts.
- The ability to perform the physical aspects of the position, and to maintain good attendance.
- Demonstrated problem solving, flexibility, creativity, and mediation skills.
Special notes
- Noise level is usually moderate to occasionally loud in the residence
- May experience verbal abuse and threats of or actual physical violence from residents

This position has a base salary rate of $63,000-$72,000 annually, with an additional $3 wage enhancement per hour, paid by the government, as reflected in the wage posted.
