The Opportunity:
For our ARBORG, MANITOBA facility, we are seeking a CNC Machine Operator (Mill and Lathe)
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and producing quality parts on CNC mills and lathes according to company plans, blueprints, work orders, and part specifications. This role includes loading materials, monitoring machine operations, making basic adjustments, and inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Loading parts, proving tapes, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
- Creating programs on the lathes, and milling machines according to company plans, blueprints, worklist and other diagrams.
- Identify and label parts.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts into machines and storage shelfs.
- Ensure programing is as economical as possible to ensure minimum wastage.
- Operates a forklift and lifting devices for movement of parts.
Qualifications:
A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read a tape measure is considered an asset; experience using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and part specifications.
- Comfortable working with common shop tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, grinders, deburring tools, and lifting equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete quality checks and identify defects or inconsistencies.
- Post-Secondary education in CNC, CAD/CAM related field is not required but would be considered an asset.
