THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a physically capable and motivated Water Well Driller Helper to join our field crew. In this role, you will work directly alongside our drill operators at active job sites, supporting all aspects of the well drilling process — from handling drill rods and casing to maintaining equipment and ensuring safe, efficient operations.
This is a hands-on, physical role that requires mechanical aptitude, physical stamina, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. No prior well drilling experience is required — what matters most is a strong work ethic, a safety-conscious mindset, and a willingness to learn.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle and connect drill rods, casing, tooling, and drilling accessories
- Support installation of steel and PVC well casing
- Assist with well development procedures
- Assist in measuring well depth, static water level, recovery rate, and production capacity
- Support grouting and well sealing activities
- Conduct daily inspections of drilling equipment, support vehicles, tools, and safety equipment
- Clean and maintain drill rig, compressors, generators, and support equipment
- Maintain inventory of drilling supplies, fuel, and consumables
- Secure tools and materials on water truck and maintain on-board supplies
- Follow all health and safety protocols on every job site
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Valid driver's license — Class 3 minimum, free of encumbrances (required)
- Standard First Aid & CPR Certification
- WHMIS certification
- Forklift Certification
- Boom Truck / Lift certification
- Physically fit and able to perform heavy, repetitive manual labour
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to 50–60 hours/week
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and tool experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Safety-conscious, reliable, and team-oriented
- Welding experience would be an asset
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Hourly Wage
- $25–$30/hr based on experience
Overtime Pay
- 1.5× rate after standard hours
