Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial equipment maintenance and repair, ensuring the efficient operation of our facilities. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing routine maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and machining as needed.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff, production staff, and outside contractors to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment maintenance history through maintenance logs
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics as needed.
- Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Requirements:
- Technical diploma or certification in industrial mechanics preferred.
- Proven experience as an industrial mechanic, or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including motors, pumps, conveyors, HVAC, and general plumbing.
- Knowledge of woodworking and millwork equipment is an asset.
- Have a working understanding of electrical circuitry and electronic controls.
- Electrical and electronics controls experience and accreditations are assets.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Familiarity with safety practices in an industrial environment.
- Must be willing to wear PPE when required (safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hard hat, etc.)
- Fall arrest training (an asset)
- Availability to work flexible hours, including overtime.
- Fluent in English
- Fluent in French (an asset)
- Red Seal Millwright (an Asset)
