Architectural Technologist

Location: Calgary, AB (Full-Time, In-Office)
About the Role
John Trinh & Associates Inc. is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Technologist to join our growing team in Calgary. This is a full-time, in-office position where you will work on a wide variety of residential and light commercial projects, including custom homes, duplexes, rowhouses, renovations, additions, secondary suites, and development/building permit applications.
You will be responsible for producing high-quality drawings, coordinating project documentation, and working closely with our design team to ensure projects meet client expectations and municipal requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare architectural, working, and construction drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
- Produce accurate Development Permit (DP) and Building Permit (BP) drawing packages
- Coordinate and review construction documents for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure drawings comply with Alberta Building Code, City of Calgary Land Use Bylaw, and applicable regulations
- Work collaboratively with designers, architects, engineers, and project coordinators
- Revise drawings based on client, consultant, and municipal feedback
- Review projects for quality control before submission
- Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
Qualifications
- SAIT Architectural Technologies Diploma (or equivalent Architectural Technology diploma)
- Proficient in Revit (required)
- Proficient in AutoCAD (required)
- Strong understanding of architectural drafting and detailing
- Experience preparing construction and working drawings
- Knowledge of Alberta Building Code and City of Calgary permitting processes is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
