Position Summary
Azhadi Vineyards is seeking a passionate and reliable Pastry Cook to join our culinary team in creating refined, seasonal desserts, breads, and pastry elements that complement our wine-driven dining experience. This role is responsible for executing pastry production, assisting in menu preparation, and maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence in a fine dining pastry program.
Key Responsibilities
Pastry & Dessert Production
- Execute pastry components and plated desserts according to recipes and standards set by the Pastry Chef and Chef de Cuisine.
- Prepare mise en place and maintain a clean, efficient pastry station throughout service.
- Ensure quality, texture, flavour balance, and presentation meet Azhadi’s elevated expectations.
- Assist with production for restaurant service, events, catering, and seasonal menu updates.
- Support baking tasks including doughs, custards, creams, pastries, and finishing work.
Kitchen Standards & Teamwork
- Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations, including Food Safe protocols.
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team while supporting a positive and respectful kitchen culture.
- Assist in daily cleaning, equipment care, and proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
- Participate in pre-service briefings and pastry-focused training sessions when applicable.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of pastry or baking experience preferred; fine dining or boutique pastry experience is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, precision, and consistency.
- A passion for pastry arts and a willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and follow direction.
- Food Safe certification required.
- Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Brings a positive, respectful attitude into the kitchen and demonstrates hospitality-forward thinking.
Compensation:
The typical hiring range for this position is $20 per hour, the hourly rate offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, and internal equity.
