We are seeking an Assistant Safety Manager to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding team. What You'll Do
This position serves as the primary support to the Corporate Health & Safety Manager and plays a key role in workforce readiness, onboarding, training compliance, claims management, project mobilization, and operational support activities throughout the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of company health and safety programs.
- Conduct site inspections when required, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
- Support incident investigations and help identify corrective and preventative actions.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee training initiatives.
- Monitor compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and company safety standards.
- Maintain safety documentation, reports, certifications, and records.
- Assist with onboarding and safety orientation for new employees.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, supervisors, and field personnel to promote safe work practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing workplace incidents and enhancing safety performance.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO), Construction Safety Officer (CSO), Occupational Health & Safety Certificate or Diploma can be an asset but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
- Technology-minded and comfortable learning new software platforms and business systems.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
- Ability to drive on resource roads, construction sites, and rough terrain when required.
- Professional appearance and ability to represent the company in both field and corporate environments.
- Must be equally comfortable wearing steel-toed boots on a construction site and business casual attire in a corporate office environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.

What We Offer
- Competitive salary of $80,000 – $110,000 annually.
