Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Piling Labourer with a valid 5G driver’s license to support piling and foundation construction projects. This role places a strong emphasis on operating 5G‑licensed vehicles to transport equipment and materials, in addition to performing hands-on piling and construction labour duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate 5G‑licensed tractor-trailer units in accordance with provincial and federal regulations
- Transport piling equipment, materials, and crew to and from job sites
- Conduct complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
- Ensure loads are properly secured and comply with weight and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate logs and report any mechanical or safety issues
- Assist with piling operations, including setup, alignment, and breakdown
- Handle piling materials such as steel piles, casing, and related components
- Support piling rig and crane operations through spotting and signaling
- Perform rigging and ground support duties as required
- Complete general labour tasks including excavation, leveling, and site cleanup
- Follow project plans, safe work procedures, and supervisor instructions
Required Qualifications & Certifications:
- Valid 5G Driver’s License (required)
- Previous experience in piling, foundation work, or heavy civil construction is an asset
- WHMIS, First Aid, or equivalent safety certifications are considered an asset
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safe load securement practices
- High level of safety awareness around heavy equipment and active construction sites
- Ability to work effectively as part of a piling crew
- Strong communication skills with supervisors, operators, and dispatch
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when required
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs]
