Basin Security is a multi-province security services provider operating across Western Canada. We protect people, property, and operations for industrial, commercial, and resource-sector clients. We are currently hiring licensed Industrial Security Officers to join the team supporting our client site at the Cargill power plant facility in Regina.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Industrial Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding the Cargill site through a combination of mobile vehicle patrols, foot patrols, and controlled gate/access management. This is a safety-sensitive, front line role. You are the first point of contact for staff, contractors, and visitors, and the first responder for site security incidents. The position suits a dependable, observant, and professional individual who takes ownership of their post.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled and random mobile patrols of the site perimeter, grounds, and outlying areas, documenting observations and reporting hazards, irregularities, or security concerns.
- Perform foot patrols of buildings, gates, parking areas, and restricted zones to deter unauthorized activity, identify safety hazards, and ensure doors, gates, an access points are secured.
- Manage gate and access control: verify and log inbound/outbound personnel, contractors, and vehicles; confirm credentials and authorizations; control entry to restricted areas; and maintain accurate visitor and traffic records.
- Monitor site conditions for safety, fire, and environmental hazards, and respond to alarm, incidents, and emergencies in accordance with site and ABS procedures.
- Complete accurate, legible, and timely reports, logs, and notebook entries; escalate incidents to the Site Supervisor and emergency services as required.
- Enforce site rules, health and safety requirements, and client-specific protocols in a firm, professional, and respectful manner.
- Provide professional customer service to staff, contractors, and the public while maintaining a visible security presence.
Qualifications Required
- Saskatchewan Basic Security Guard Training Certificate - 40 hour ministry approved course
- Satisfactory criminal record check
- Valid, unrestricted Class 5 driver's license & clean abstract
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain alert and effective during long patrols and varied shifts
- Standard First Aid / CPR certification
- WHMIS 2015
- Prior experience in industrial, energy, or resource-sector security is an asset
- Familiarity with access-control systems, incident reporting software, or CCTV is an asset
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Casual, rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Requires extended periods of standing, walking, and patrolling, as well as driving for mobile patrol duties
- Safety sensitive position; subject to applicable fitness-for-duty and drug and alcohol testing requirements

Pay: $23.00 per hour
