Electrical Engineering Technologist
The Electrical Engineering Technologist is a key member of the electrical engineering and design team, supporting the development, integration, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across manufacturing and service operations. This role works closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure electrical systems meet design intent, quality standards, and production requirements. The position emphasizes a “right‑the‑first‑time” approach throughout the design, build, testing, and delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities Electrical Support
- Assist with troubleshooting, calibration, installation, and repair of electrical systems on the production floor and within the service department.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure electrical installations meet quality and safety standards.
- Support the Pre‑Delivery Inspection (PDI) process by correcting post‑test deficiencies.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to manufacturing and service teams on correct assembly of electrical components.
- Demonstrate leadership in ensuring accurate and complete testing of post‑chassis electrical installations.
- Provide electrical documentation and procedures to team members in a timely manner.
- Respond to technical support requests through the electrical ticketing system.
- Identify defective components and collaborate with Quality Assurance on resolution.
- Perform bench testing of electrical components.
- Participate in daily production update meetings.
System Software and Configuration
- Configure chassis engine and transmission parameters using approved documentation.
- Load and configure proprietary system software across various equipment models.
- Configure third‑party devices to required specifications.
- Assist with full system integration and software validation activities.
- Support troubleshooting of chassis fault codes and check‑engine indicators.
- Maintain accurate records of configurations, changes, and revisions.
Electrical Drawings, Documentation, and Production Publishing
- Publish electrical design documentation for production use.
- Apply engineering change revisions to CAD drawings.
- Generate component‑specific interface drawings for custom applications.
- Identify and apply appropriate part numbers to drawings and documentation.
- Create and revise guides, procedures, manuals, and technical specifications.
- Maintain strict revision control and documentation accuracy.
Projects and Other Duties
- Participate in related projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications Education and Certification
- Engineering Technologist Diploma, Engineering Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation is preferred.
Experience
- Experience with, or strong interest in, heavy‑duty industrial equipment and/or manufacturing environments.
- Hands‑on experience with assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and components.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and general tool knowledge are considered assets.
- Experience using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar CAD software; familiarity with Autodesk Inventor is an asset.
- Experience contributing to engineering documentation systems and publishing designs.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.

Working Conditions

- CSA‑approved safety footwear is required.
