Northern Health is seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to serve as Regional Manager, Environmental Health & Tobacco Enforcement, overseeing the delivery and continuous improvement of comprehensive Health Protection programs across the region.
The Regional Manager, Environmental Health & Tobacco Enforcement is responsible for the management and operation of Health Protection within Northern Health (NH) including planning, implementing, evaluating programs and services such as Food Safety, Water Safety, Land Use, Communicable Disease, Community Sanitation, Tobacco Control and administrative support. The Regional Manager ensures the leadership and management of the human, financial and material resources in the area and supports the goals, policies and vision of Northern Health. The Regional Manager also ensures completion of the department’s objectives in the annual business plan. The Regional Manager participates as a member of the Public Health Protection Management Team in the coordination and integration of planning and evaluation strategies into the service delivery system of NH. The Regional Manager is responsible for the management of internal and external partnerships and the integration of Environmental Health services within NH.
Starting salary will be approximately from $108,147 to $135,184 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.
- Bachelors Degree in a health discipline or equivalent.
- Five (5) years’ related management experience in Public Health Protection services, including experience in program planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Five (5) years’ experience as an Environmental Health Officer, Public Health or related Engineer.
- Possession of a valid BC Drivers License.
- Criminal Record check may be required.
- Extensive travel with the Northern Health region may be required.

- Thorough knowledge of modern methods, principles, techniques and practices in Health Protection.
- Demonstrated ability in the preparation of reports for legal application.
- Ability and willingness to travel, valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.
