Position Summary:
Assists the Talent Acquisition Leader with assessing the staffing needs of the Company and identifies and recruits talented individuals to fill those needs. Responsible for full-cycle recruiting, ensuring a smooth, positive candidate experience from the initial application to conclusion of the on-boarding process.
General Duties:
- Work closely with the Corporate Talent Acquisition Leader and Farm Managers to understand current staffing levels and requirements, and understand the essential skills and expectations of each position
- Open and maintain internal and external advertisements for open positions, ensuring compliance to LMIA and Union requirements
- Manage internal recruitment process; posting, tracking internal applicants, assisting with interview coordination and ensuring notification for all hourly position changes / promotions, in order to manage recruitment needs.
- Review resumes, applications and cover letters, managing all applications for employment, and ensuring all applicants are tracked accordingly.
- Conduct pre-screening phone call for qualified applicants in accordance with the pre-screening criteria.
- Apply correct selection criteria and interview questions tailored to each type of position
- Arrange interviews to fill hourly positions, assessing skills and competencies
- Consult with managers regarding selection of candidates adapting hiring manager needs while meeting core talent acquisition best practices in support of the Highline employer brand
- Conduct reference checks for all qualified candidates
- Prepare detailed and accurate employment contracts for hourly positions, presenting in a timely manner where needed
- Prepares on-boarding documents for successful candidates and communicates them to the proper parties once complete.
- Explain on-boarding process to successful candidates and provide information regarding orientation.
- Ensures candidates who received a phone screen or interview are notified of the hiring decision in a timely manner, meeting federal and provincial legislation requirements.
- Use of Applicant Tracking System and Excel documents to properly track applicants and the status of the application process.
- Assist in organizing and attending job fairs and recruitment events
- Conduct wage analysis on roles when requested
- Facilitate the issuance of surveys and collection of data to associates regarding their onboarding and employment experience.
- Manage the University/College Co-op Program, including arranging interviews, assisting with interviews and candidate selection, and on-boarding process
- Work with the Staffing Agencies when a need for temporary workers is required and assist in the onboarding process as needed, with assistance from the Talent Acquisition Leader
- Update and manage any all tracking spreadsheets and Applicant Tracking System.
- Update Talent Acquisition Leader on a weekly basis with status of recruitment efforts
LMIA Requirements
- Data entry and maintenance of tracking sheets, to ensure proper documentation to meet requirements of the Temporary Foreign Worker program.
- Create, maintain and monitor advertisements and job matching on Service Canada’s Job Bank
- Maintain detailed records of all advertisements as proof of advertising for the LMIA process
- Ensure proper filing of all phone screen documents, interview notes and reference checks for candidates
Qualifications & Experience:
- Post secondary education in Office Administration, Business Administration or a related field is required.
- Candidate must be proficient in the use of computers and online platforms (social media, professional networks, job boards, Microsoft Office etc.)
- Fluent in Written and Verbal English, other languages considered an asset
- Human Resources experience, including in talent acquisition or reception experience is considered an asset
- Must be knowledgeable of provincial employment standards (Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, British Columbia)
- Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation, or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation an asset
- Familiarity with the Agricultural Stream Temporary Foreign Worker Program is an asset
- Experience with an Applicant Tacking System considered an asset
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
