We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator with Infant Toddler (ECE-IT) to join our Kamloops team. Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences based on children’s interests and needs, both indoors and outdoors.
- Guide children in developing life skills, including meal-time routines, dressing, resting, diapering, and toilet habits.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and aesthetically pleasing environment using natural and open-ended materials and displaying children’s work.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues; communicate regularly about children’s progress and provide opportunities for parent involvement.
- Collaborate with educators to deliver a cohesive, child-centered program aligned with the Society’s values.
- Observe and document children’s learning, using this information to plan future experiences and track progress.
- Identify signs of learning or emotional challenges and report to the Executive Director or program managers as required.
- Mentor new staff and practicum students when needed.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and report any equipment issues.
- Participate in staff meetings, special events, and ongoing professional development.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid ECE Infant Toddler (ECE-IT) certification (or eligibility)
- Current BC ECE-IT license in good standing
- Valid Standard First Aid or Child Emphasis Certificate
- Successful Criminal Record Check
