EQUIPMENT TESTING TECHNICIAN

We are currently seeking an Equipment Testing Technician to join our Red Deer Frac team.
This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for someone with hands-on experience operating, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining frac equipment and related systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for validating equipment performance, supporting commissioning activities, identifying mechanical issues, and ensuring equipment is ready for customer delivery and operation.
This role combines equipment testing, diagnostics, commissioning, and shop support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical troubleshooting and hands-on equipment operation.

What You'll Be Doing
- Operate and test diesel and natural gas engines, frac pumps, and compressor systems
- Perform commissioning and performance validation of customer equipment
- Conduct testing using controllers, remote systems, and diagnostic software
- Facilitate customer-witnessed testing and commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot engines, pumps, transmissions, and related systems
- Identify equipment deficiencies and communicate required repairs
- Complete commissioning reports, inspection records, and testing documentation
- Coordinate test stand scheduling and testing activities
- Support technicians with troubleshooting and technical feedback based on testing results
- Assist with shop repair and maintenance activities during periods of lower testing demand
What You Bring
Required
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating, maintaining, or troubleshooting frac equipment
- Strong understanding of diesel and natural gas engines, frac pumps, and compressor systems
- Proven troubleshooting ability with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Experience using engine diagnostic software and related computer systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Valid driver's license with acceptable abstract
Preferred
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) or equivalent trade certification
- Apprentice HET with significant frac experience
- Experience with drilling, frac, compression, or plant operations
- Experience commissioning or testing high-horsepower equipment
