Overview:
The industrial painter prepares applies paint, varnishes, and other coatings to a variety of materials and surfaces. This role is crucial for protecting surfaces from corrosion, enhancing durability, and improving aesthetics. This role requires technical painting skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards. The position includes prep, cleaning, masking and other production work as required.
Location: This role will work from our Manufacturing Shop.
Work Hours: 7:00am – 3:30pm Mon-Fri. The timings may vary and change to adjust to business needs.
Salary Range: $26.00 - $30.00/hr
Bonus: This position is eligible to receive an incentive award targeted at 5% of the base salary.
Responsibilities:
- Selecting and mixing coating paints to desired color as per work order and prepare spraying equipment such as cleaning or adjusting spray guns.
- Willingness to take direction from area lead and follow that direction and to be a self-starter when not working under direct supervision.
- Be capable of reading and understanding technical documents such as paint mixing procedures, and maintaining sprayer equipment as required
- Set up paint booth with correct supplies and materials.
- Power wash and prep all surface to make paint ready. This may include the use of approved degreasers.
- Ensure all decals and stenciling are added to finished product as per work orders.
- Inspect and Quality Check all coatings after application.
- Operate forklift to move equipment in and outside of the shop
- Manage time in a fast-paced environment to ensure all equipment is prepped and ready before deadlines
- Willing to help other team members as needed
- Cleaning spraying equipment with solvent or other recommended cleaning solutions daily.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with air fed and airless paint systems
- Excellent knowledge of finishing material and applications.
- Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques.
- Expertise in utilizing various spray-painting tools and equipment such as pressure pots, spray guns, hoses, nozzles, spray-painting equipment
- Ability to operate a forklift
