We're looking for an experienced Systems & Applications Engineer to become the highest technical escalation point within our Proactive Operations Centre (POC). If you enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, improving systems, automating repetitive work, and designing long-term solutions instead of applying temporary fixes, we'd love to meet you.
About the Role
This is not a Help Desk position.
This is an engineering role focused on maintaining and improving enterprise environments before issues impact our clients.
You'll work alongside our POC Analysts, Network Engineers, Cybersecurity Engineers, Deployment Services, and Reactive Operations Centre to support Microsoft infrastructures, virtualization platforms, cloud services, and business applications across our managed client environments.
What You'll Do
As our Systems & Applications Engineer, you will:
- Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex infrastructure issues
- Administer Windows Server and Active Directory environments
- Manage Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, Teams, and SharePoint
- Support virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V
- Maintain server performance, storage, and infrastructure health
- Troubleshoot business-critical applications
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement permanent solutions
- Improve monitoring, automation, and operational efficiency
- Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles
- Participate in server migrations, Microsoft 365 projects, and infrastructure upgrades
- Mentor technical staff and provide guidance on complex issues

Technical Requirements
Strong experience with:
- Windows Server administration
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Group Policy
- DNS and DHCP
- Microsoft 365 Administration
- Exchange Online
- Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Intune
- Microsoft Teams
- SharePoint Online
- PowerShell scripting
- VMware and/or Hyper-V
- Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions
- Server and workstation troubleshooting
Experience with the following is considered an asset:
- HaloPSA
- N-central
- Microsoft Defender
- SQL Server
- Healthcare software environments
- MSP experience
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering experience
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent documentation abilities
- Experience supporting multiple client environments
- Microsoft certifications are considered an asset
- VMware certifications are an asset
- ITIL Foundation is an asset
