Bakery Production Specialist (Cook & Barista)
Position Overview
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and highly organized Bakery Production Specialist to join our team. This position combines bakery production, dessert preparation, beverage station operations, and sandwich preparation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining consistent product quality, following recipes precisely, and contributing to an efficient and professional production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Bakery & Pastry Production
- Prepare, portion, and process various types of doughs and batters, including cookies, cake layers, sponge cakes, breads, and other baked goods.
- Prepare creams, fillings, frostings, sauces, and other bakery components.
- Assist with baking operations and production schedules.
- Decorate cakes, desserts, and pastries using creams, berries, fruits, and other decorative elements.
- Follow recipes, production sheets, and procedures accurately.
- Monitor product quality throughout all stages of production.
Beverage Station Operations
- Prepare coffee, espresso-based beverages, specialty drinks, and house-made lemonades.
- Maintain beverage consistency, quality, and presentation standards.
- Keep the beverage station clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Sandwich Production
- Prepare ingredients for sandwiches.
- Assemble sandwiches according to recipes and presentation standards.
Required Qualifications
Mandatory Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, commercial kitchen, café, or similar food production environment.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in scratch baking, pastry production, recipe execution, and commercial food production.
- Ability to accurately follow written recipes, production sheets, labels, instructions, and technical specifications.
- Professional knife skills are required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential requirements for this position.
- Flexible availability is required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and varying shift schedules. Saturday availability is mandatory.
- This is a full-time position with scheduled hours typically ranging from 35 to 45 hours per week.
Recipe Compliance & Accuracy
Our production system is built on consistency, precision, and accountability.
Candidates must be able to follow recipes, procedures, and production instructions exactly as written. Accurate measurements, ingredient selection, timing, temperatures, baking programs, cooling procedures, and storage requirements are essential parts of the role.
We measure and monitor product consistency closely. Consistent failure to follow recipes, measurements, production standards, food safety procedures, or quality requirements may result in unsuccessful completion of the probationary period.
This position is best suited for individuals who take pride in accuracy, responsibility, and professional execution.
Food Safety & Quality Standards
All team members are expected to:
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
- Follow all Food Safety and Sanitation standards.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations.
- Follow company quality control procedures.
- Correct mistakes immediately when identified.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement and training.
Training & Development
Successful candidates must be willing to participate in:
- Written training materials.
- Video-based training.
- Hands-on practical training.
- Internal and external courses when required.
The ability to receive feedback professionally and implement corrective actions is essential for success in this role.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 20 kg (44 lbs).
- Ability to accurately read recipes, production sheets, labels, instructions, and training materials is an essential requirement of this position.
- Employees must be able to safely and effectively perform all job duties, including operating equipment, following recipes, monitoring production processes, and maintaining required quality standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
This position involves the use of commercial food production equipment, including mixers, dough sheeters, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, professional espresso machines, knives, pastry torches, and other bakery equipment. Employees are expected to follow all operating procedures and safety protocols.
This position also involves regular exposure to common food allergens, including nuts, peanuts, honey, dairy, eggs, wheat, flour, fish, berries, and other ingredients commonly used in bakery and food production environments.

Probationary Period
This position includes a probationary period of up to six (6) months, during which performance, attendance, reliability, and overall suitability for the role will be evaluated.
Failure to meet mandatory performance standards, food safety requirements, recipe compliance expectations, quality control standards, attendance requirements, or workplace conduct expectations may result in unsuccessful completion of the probationary period.
