Registered Dental Hygienist
Banff, Alberta$60–$75+ per hour | Minimum 30 hours/week | Health Benefits
Build a Career, Not Just Fill a Chair
Floss Dental Hygiene is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to join our growing independent dental hygiene practice in Banff, Alberta.
Located in the heart of the beautiful Bow Valley, we are a relationship-based clinic focused on prevention, periodontal health, and long-term patient care. Our patients return because of the quality of care they receive and the relationships they build with our team.
We are looking for a clinician who values patient relationships, clinical excellence, professional growth, and the opportunity to practice with a high degree of autonomy.
What Makes Our Practice Different
Independent dental hygiene practice offers a unique opportunity for clinicians who enjoy professional responsibility and clinical decision-making.
Our hygienists are trusted to:
- Assess and manage patient care independently
- Exercise sound clinical judgment
- Determine when consultation or referral is appropriate
- Build long-term patient relationships
- Play an active role in patient education and prevention
- Collaborate with local healthcare providers to support excellent patient outcomes
This role is best suited to clinicians who enjoy taking ownership of patient care and practicing with a high degree of professional autonomy.
We are not a high-volume production clinic. We prioritize patient relationships, prevention, quality care, and long-term health outcomes.
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation ($60–$75+ per hour depending on experience, productivity, and schedule)
- Guaranteed minimum compensation with performance-based earning opportunities
- Extended health benefits
- Flexible scheduling options
- Typical schedule of 4 days per week with opportunities to increase hours if desired
- Established patient base with strong demand for care
- Modern clinic and technology
- Supportive and collaborative team environment
- Opportunity to live and work in one of Canada's most beautiful mountain communities
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a hygienist who is:
- Licensed or eligible for registration as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alberta
- Confident, professional, and patient-focused
- Comfortable building strong patient relationships
- Able to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals
- Organized and capable of managing a clinical schedule effectively
- Comfortable exercising clinical judgment and making decisions independently
Experience
Experienced clinicians are strongly preferred. Candidates with 5+ years of clinical experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
We value clinicians who are confident in their clinical decision-making, comfortable taking ownership of patient care, and committed to ongoing professional growth.
While mentorship and professional development remain important, this role is best suited to a clinician who is comfortable practicing with a high degree of autonomy and managing patient care independently.
Exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered if they demonstrate outstanding clinical judgment, professionalism, and a commitment to growth.
Location & Lifestyle
This position is based in Banff, Alberta.
Candidates who currently live in, or are willing to relocate to, the Bow Valley are strongly preferred.
Given the schedule, winter driving conditions, and the importance of building long-term patient relationships, this role is not well suited to long-distance commuting from Calgary or other distant communities.
We are particularly interested in candidates looking to build a long-term career and life in the Bow Valley.
Why Join Floss?
We believe compensation should reflect both professional growth and clinical capability.
Our goal is to create an environment where clinicians are supported, challenged, and rewarded for developing strong clinical skills, patient relationships, and professional independence.
If you're looking for a practice where your judgment is valued, your growth is supported, and your work has a meaningful impact on patients, we'd love to hear from you.
Please submit your resume and a brief introduction outlining your experience and interest in the position to [email protected].
