Responsibilities:
- Operate a remote dispensing location pharmacy with assistance from a virtual pharmacist
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications and providing patient care
- Prepare and package medications for distribution
- Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
- Enter prescription information into the computer system accurately
- Process insurance claims and handle billing issues
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional manner
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience
- Certification as a registered pharmacy technician (RPhT) is required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy calculations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Skills:
- Medication administration: Knowledge of proper medication administration techniques and dosage calculations.
- Hospital: Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations, including medication distribution systems and protocols.
- Medical terminology: Understanding of medical terms, abbreviations, and symbols commonly used in healthcare settings.
- Patient care: Ability to provide compassionate care to patients, including addressing their concerns and ensuring their safety.
- Pharmacy technician: Proficiency in performing the duties of a pharmacy technician, such as preparing medications, managing inventory, and assisting pharmacists.
