Job Title: Marketing, Communications & Events Lead
Status: Regular, Full-Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday (some evenings and weekends as required)
Salary: This position starts at $55,000 per year and increases to $79,089 per year, over a 10- year period. This salary range incorporates experience, yearly salary increments to reward years of service, employee growth and development within the organization.

The Opportunity
As the Marketing, Communications & Events Lead reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications, you will play a vital role in amplifying DIVERSEcity’s mission and impact and promoting its services through digital marketing, multimedia content creation, community events and stakeholder relations. You will play an important role in developing and implementing innovative marketing and event strategies to engage community members, clients, corporate partners and donors, while supporting DIVERSEcity’s profile and business development. You will work together with the other members of the Marketing and Communications team to create compelling and consistent branding, marketing and communications materials across print and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities

Develop innovative, data-driven digital marketing, communications and stakeholder engagement strategies to increase audience reach, strengthen relationships, and support event success and revenue growth;

Lead aspects of event planning and execution, hosting and coordination, including logistics, managing budgets, timelines, vendor management, marketing and promotion, and post-event follow-up and evaluation;

Lead the creation and execution of diverse marketing, communications and thought leadership assets, including social media content, videos, website content, pitch packages and digital advertising (e.g., Google Ads);

Drive business development efforts through the pursuit of new funding opportunities, including grant applications and corporate sponsorships, while strengthening stakeholder relationships to support revenue growth;

Advance media relations and community outreach to support promotion of events and programs;

Partner with program staff to design and implement portfolio-specific marketing plans, ensuring alignment with organizational messaging, brand standards and strategic priorities;

Manage and monitor budgets and revenues related to communications, events, and business development and fundraising initiatives;

Oversee relevant vendors and contractors, including managing invoicing and contractor agreements for events and projects;

Exercises independent judgment in planning, prioritizing and executing marketing and events strategies;

Ensures accountability for outcomes, including evaluating effectiveness of strategies and adjusting as needed;

Other duties to support marketing, communication and event planning at DIVERSEcity.
Qualified candidates will possess:

At least three to five years of experience in communications, event planning, stakeholder engagement and/or public relations;

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field;

Fluent English writing, editing and proofreading skills, and strong verbal communication skills;

Multimedia content and design skills with the proven ability to create compelling messaging and materials; including social media, video and marketing content;

Experience planning and executing successful events including seeking sponsorships and corporate partners;

Experience managing websites, social media and other digital communications tools including Google Ads;

Proven ability to manage projects and work collaboratively with others to achieve goals;

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment;

Interpersonal skills to facilitate work with a wide range of individuals and groups from culturally diverse communities;

BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle;

Ability to work in office three days a week, with flexibility to occasionally adjust days to attend events or activities, including on evenings and weekends, as team operational needs require.
