Wonton Crunch, a Division of Cervello Marketing, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician/Millwright to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our food manufacturing facility. This hands-on role, reporting to the Plant Manager, is responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives that maximize equipment reliability and minimize production downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance
- Develop, implement, and perform preventive maintenance programs for production equipment and facility systems.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify wear, potential failures, and maintenance requirements before breakdowns occur.
- Schedule and complete preventive maintenance activities in accordance with production requirements.
- Recommend equipment improvements that enhance reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
Equipment Repairs & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment failures to minimize production downtime.
- Perform emergency repairs and provide on-call support as required.
- Troubleshoot production equipment including conveyors, packaging equipment, mixers, motors, pumps, and related machinery.
- Ensure all repairs are completed safely, effectively, and in compliance with company standards.
Electrical & Mechanical Support
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on production and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot motors, sensors, controls, wiring, switches, and industrial electrical systems.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning of new machinery.
- Coordinate licensed electrical support where regulatory requirements apply.
Maintenance Documentation & Downtime Analysis
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment service histories.
- Record equipment downtime, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze recurring maintenance issues and recommend long-term reliability improvements.
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
Parts & Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and critical spare parts.
- Recommend appropriate inventory levels to support efficient operations.
- Source replacement parts and coordinate purchasing requests as required.
- Ensure critical components are readily available to reduce equipment downtime.
Contractor & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate maintenance activities with external contractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers.
- Assist with equipment installations, servicing, and specialized repair work.
- Verify completed work and maintain documentation for all third-party service activities.
Equipment Documentation
- Maintain organized equipment manuals, schematics, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
- Update maintenance records following repairs, modifications, or equipment changes.
- Develop reference materials to support efficient troubleshooting and repairs.
Facility Maintenance
- Perform general facility maintenance including lighting, plumbing, utilities, and minor building repairs.
- Maintain safe and functional production, warehouse, and common areas.
- Identify and address facility-related safety concerns promptly.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Minimum 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably within a food manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance skills.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing industrial equipment, including conveyors, packaging equipment, motors, pumps, mixers, and automated production systems.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, sensors, controls, wiring, and basic troubleshooting of industrial electrical components.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and identify root causes.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize urgent maintenance needs, and respond effectively to production breakdowns.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, food safety, and quality standards.
Preferred
- Licensed Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) strongly preferred.
- Experience working as a Millwright in a manufacturing, food processing, or automated production environment.
- Experience with mechanical installations, equipment alignment, conveyor systems, bearings, drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, and preventative maintenance programs.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, machining, and general facility repairs is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of food manufacturing requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation procedures, and food safety standards.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for maintenance scheduling, work orders, and equipment history tracking.
- Electrical experience or additional certification is considered an asset.

This position is based in a food manufacturing environment and requires regular exposure to:

Pay: $32.00-$42.00 per hour
