Reporting to the Logistics & warehouse Manager, the Delivery Driver & Material Handler will safely and promptly deliver trusses and other materials to jobsites throughout the province and assist in the Material Handling and Inventory Integrity section of our business when there isn't deliveries to be made.
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Driver’s License with a Class 1, and or Class 15 Endorsement
- Clean driving abstract
- Demonstrates consistent attendance and dependability
- Strong vehicle handling skills, including trailer backing and maneuvering in confined job-site areas
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and service-oriented attitude when representing the company on client job sites
- Strong commitment to safety and excellent use of judgement
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all NS Department of Transportation regulations to the maximum letter of the law
- Safely load, transport, and unload trusses, building materials, and related products while ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
- While most work occurs during regular business hours, there are times when evening or weekend work is necessary
- You will be responsible for the delivery and coordination of placing products onsite
- Record keeping as required with emphasis on DOT regulations
- Ensure the quality of our products will be maintained during transportation and delivery
- Act as the final interface with EASTCUT customers, ensuring you are professional and respectful in everything you say and do
- Act as the keeper of all delivery documentation, and will ensure shipping BOL are signed and returned in a timely manner
- Ensure that your delivery equipment is always clean and kept in an excellent state of repair, reporting any mechanical issues to the Maintenance team for repair
- If we do not have products to deliver, you will assist in the Material Handling and Inventory Integrity section of our business. This will include repositioning materials as directed, tidying, and cleaning as instructed
- Other duties as required
Rate of Pay
Rate of pay dependent on experience. Medical and dental benefits, RRSP matching, paid volunteer time, and 4% vacation pay each pay. All applications are strictly confidential.
