Adult Community Services provides a wide range of addiction & mental health treatment to the residents of Edmonton & surrounding suburban areas. This program adheres to the Edmonton Zone Addiction & Mental Health Principles of Care providing quality, client focused, recovery based, concurrent capable, culturally appropriate care to those seeking supports/services within Addiction/Mental Health. Services are offered to clients & their families in the least intrusive & most appropriate manner & include assessment, individual & group treatment, & consultation. Interventions may be done in the clinic, community, or in a client’s home, dependent on the identified needs. As an Admin Support IV, you will be the first point of contact clients have with the clinic & our services. You will provide professional, knowledgeable, welcoming, & engaging reception for clients, visitors, & staff. You will be responsible for the provision of Admin support including coordination of client & multiple provider appointment scheduling, advanced Admin services, & complex coordination of schedules/activities. Additional duties will also include managing & tracking incoming client referrals, maintenance of work queues, payroll management & other duties as assigned. You will have an awareness of the Mental Health Act & Community Treatment Orders Legislation & prepare the required forms associated. You will respond to difficult client issues & complaints in a polite, professional, appropriate manner & be aware of emergency procedures when dealing with difficult clients. You will utilize critical thinking skills when directing emergent client calls. The position requires strict adherence & sensitivity to confidentiality. Developing Admin relationships with staff & other agency professionals is essential.
As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Three to five years of experience working within Addiction and Mental Health. Attention to detail and professional, courteous, prompt customer service. Must have the ability to organize and prioritize. Must be flexible and able to meet the demands of changes in work assignments. Must have proficient use of the English language oral and written. Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of confidential clinical information is required. Strong skill set with electronic medical recording (EMR/Connect Care). Must have working knowledge of privacy legislation (HIA and FOIP) and the Mental Health Act. Must have ability to sit for extended periods with repetitive hand movements, keyboarding, and telephone handling, with the ability to work in a busy, noisy work environment. Must be able to lift file boxes up to 20lbs. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Strong communication skills including conflict management and resolution. Ability to ambulate, climb stairs, and move quickly without limitations in a variety of environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of the resources of Addiction and Mental Health and the community and knowledge of mental health legislation including Community Treatment Orders is an asset.
